One of the positive things about staying at home these last four months is having the time to appreciate squirrels. They’re cute and lovable, even when they climb between the walls of Scott’s house.

Barbershops reopened today in NYC, and Scott gets his first haircut in four months. Tom and Scott hope that the “before” picture of a wild haired Einstein looking Scott will help them win a Nobel Prize for Science.

After more than two months of bare shelves, toilet paper and paper towels are finally available again. And masks and hand sanitizers are now cheaper and easier to find. The downside is that’s because there are so many selfish and ignorant people who don’t want to wear masks. Plus a salute to the second longest day of the year.

Today marks the summer solstice, the first day of summer, and the longest day of the year. Tom and Scott share what they will do with those extra seconds today, as well as why they’re grateful we don’t live in a time when men wore suits of armor.

Tom hits the streets in his electric bike, which is so powerful he laughs going up hills. But as Scott discovers, hills always make Tom laugh. And Scott premieres the imaginary instructional film, “The Wonders of Walking.”

Scott looks forward to the opening of barber shops in NYC four days from now, for his first haircut in four months. Tom, who bravely cut his own hair, worries about running into his barber at the juice bar next door.

Tom’s talking cat Oliver occasionally bites him, but Scott finds the silver lining in that. Plus another potential Nobel Prize winning invention: the pre-obituary. A chance to thank someone for the things you found out about them by reading it, while they’re still alive.

Tom and Scott dish on dishes. When Tom reveals he talks to his plates, bowls and mugs, and imagines how they converse with each other, Scott sheepishly admits he has never talked or listened to his dinnerware or flatware, and vows to start doing so.

In a first of its kind podcast intervention, Scott convinces Tom to put aside his fears and start walking in his neighborhood again. Tom still thinks of himself as a cat who likes to stay home, but now he is also an outdoor cat.
