If you find a 1990, 50p coin with Queen Elizabeth on the front and a choirboy with a puppy on the reverse - you could be in for a windfall! The Supreme Court has dismissed a Competition law claim against Gibtelecom. Gib Fibre accused Gibtel of unfairly denying access to its data centres, following years of litigation between the companies on related issues. The company, and its subsidiary Rockolo, always maintained they had acted properly. Puisne Judge John Restano ruled Gibtelecom did not abuse a dominant market position. Iain Triay Clarence was at the courts earlier today.

Do you find llanito, the way we talk and write in Gibraltar, interesting? Researchers and academics from Spanish, British, Swiss, Dutch, German and Italian universities are interested. They got together in Vigo, northwest Spain, with a number of Gibraltarian writers, the Gibraltar Government Archaeologist, local podcaster Michelle Rougeroni and linguists from GFAMS. We spoke to Manuel Enriles of GFAMS to discussed what the conference covered and why it matters.

Women's Football is on the up! The Gibraltar national team recently completed a summer training camp, which entailed a number of friendlies against teams in the UK. We had players Shania Robba and Sophia Brinkman in the studio alongside GFA women's development officer Arianne Risso.

The GHA has confirmed some of its services have been impacted by the global IT outage. Its medical computer system is not working. GBC understands this is used by GPs to book appointments, view patient notes, order prescriptions and make referrals. Shelina Assomull and Jonathan Sacramento told us more about the outage, and we also spoke to the GHA Director General Kevin McGee.

Cyber Security is a hot topic right now - both locally and globally - over the last few days we've been reporting a number of incidents of telephone banking scams with the total amount of money scammed now in the millions. Then this morning, news broke about a massive IT outage, affecting airports, businesses, transport links, supermarkets, and broadcasters around the world. It's an issue which is difficult to understand, it often - quite literally - goes over our heads. Peter Bassill shed some light on the situation.

The UEFA conference league qualifier between St Josephs and Shelbourne FC at the Europa Point Stadium was unfortunately overshadowed by chants of “Gibraltar es Espanol” by the Shelbourne fans before the game and after the fulltime whistle was blown by the referee. Jose Mari Ruiz was at the game and heard the chants first-hand.

And, on this week’s edition of "Llanitos Abroad", we’re going about as far afield as possible. We caught up with teacher Lynette Pritchard in Australia where it was nearly bedtime! She told us about what life is like down under.

The hostile environment fostered by the Spanish team’s “Gibraltar es Español” chants may have reared its ugly head last night. GBC has received reports of one, possibly two, violent incidents in La Linea involving some young people from Gibraltar, who were hurt on their way back from the fair. Our information suggests 'Gibraltar Español' was heard during one of these violent incidents. Iain Triay Clarence brought us the details. 

They have English accents and sound professional. And they've scammed Gibraltarian companies and individuals of literally millions of pounds. The number of reported incidents of telephone banking scams has now risen to more than 40, with the total amount of money scammed now in the millions. More reports are expected in the next 24 hours. How's the police dealing with it? Our reporter Jonathan Sacramento has spent some time with the RGP's Economic Crime Unit.

Dancers from Stylos Dance Studios gave up their flip flops for dance shoes as they were competed at the Dance World Championships in Prague. And the team didn't disappoint, ???? We caught up with Lillianne Montero as well as dancers Anna Himenez and Heaven Bocarisa.

And, a group of Explorer Scouts from the UK are here on the rock for a marine science camp in conjunction with the Nautilus Project.But what does a marine science camp entail. We spoke to Pablo Kussner and Cameron Byrne, two of the youth monitors, as well as leader and scout from the UK, Tom Pearson and Charlie Gutteridge.

Lincoln Red Imps triumphed over Hamrun Spartans in their Champions League qualifying match last night at the Europa Sports Complex. It was nail-biting game that went into extra time and penalties, but Lincoln kept their nerve to win the tie and progress. We spoke to the club’s Graham Torilla.

We had a chat with Gibraltar Today’s producer Robin Sheppard-Capurro about taking Gibraltar Today to our local beaches.

Jezmiah Negron, beach attendant at Eastern Beach, told us about her role in making sure the beach is accessible to all.

And, local beach goer Matthew Perez spoke to us about why Eastern is his go-to spot in the summer and what makes it special to him, and touched upon the issues unique to Eastern Beach over the last few years.

Members of the Spanish national football team have incurred the anger and frustration of Gibraltarians with chants of 'Gibraltar es español' during their Euro winning celebrations last night. On a main stage in Madrid, the Spanish players, spearheaded by captain Alvaro Morata and one of the players of the tournament, Rodri, led the crowd in the taunt, which has triggered widespread condemnation by media pundits, politicians, and the press. The Gibraltar FA says it is taking advice on filing an official complaint to UEFA, European football's governing body, and has the full backing of the Chief Minister. Our reporters Jonathan Sacramento and Kevin Ruiz have been following your reactions to the incident, as well as the media coverage outside the Rock.

What were you doing when you were 14 years old? Last month, local youngster Luca Coulthard became an English Open champion in Submission Grappling. We invited Luca to the studio with his proud father Matt Coulthard to find out more about submission grappling and what it was like achieving gold in the tournament.

Last night Euro 2024 came to an end as Spain beat England 2-1 in the final. Here on the Rock there's been a real buzz, but how did that translate in terms of trade? We spoke to the by Head of the Gibraltar Catering Association Alan Asquez.

A group of young Gibraltarians recently returned home from France after undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Four out of the ten participants told us more about the trip; Emily Moir, Alex Sanchez Soiza, Nayan Jeffries and Param Nagrani, alongside National Director Michael Pizzarello.

The vast majority of respondents in a survey think the spread of misinformation and disinformation poses a significant threat to public discourse and democratic processes. But 8 in 10 feel confident in spotting fake news. The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority has published a report on the results collated from the media literacy survey which was carried out as part of its ‘Media Literacy Matters’ Campaign. We discussed the results with the GRA's Frank Trenado and Ibrahim Alba.

Jose Mari Ruiz told us about last night’s results from the UEFA conference league qualifiers. Magpies got their campaign off to a flying start with a 2-0 win over Derry City, while in the Republic of Ireland St Josephs suffered a 2-1 defeat to Shelbourne FC.

After a whopping 50 matches, the Euro 2024 gears up for the grand finale in Berlin, as Spain and England prepare to meet in Sunday’s final! Spain's route to the final has been swift and graceful, reminiscent of a flamenco dancer at the peak of their power. England's route was rather more stuttered and tough to watch, reminiscent of your dad on the dance floor. But ultimately they are in the final! Our sports reporters Jose Mari Ruiz and Robin Sheppard-Capurro looked ahead to the big game.

And, in today’s edition of “Llanitos Abroad”, we spoke to sports writer Molly McElwee from West London on her way to cover Wimbledon! It’s very exciting to have a Gibraltarian be a part in the rise of women in sports. She spoke to us about her career and how she felt leaving Gibraltar to pursue journalism with The Telegraph.

Travelling abroad for medical appointments can be stressful on both the patient and family. The GHA have invested in new equipment that should help improve the patient experience of diagnoses. They say the repatriated service will improve the overall experience for patients. We were joined in the studio by Minister for Health, Gemma Arias Vasquez, and Clinical Director of Radiology, Dr Chris Rodriguez.

Bilingualism is a hot topic at present - many locals fear the demise of the llanito language. How important is it to you? to what extent does it help form our identity? We discussed the topic with by el mah llanito, our very own Kevin Ruiz, alongside Sophie McDonald, winner of Culture's recent llanito short story competition.

And ,the Taxi Association has launched a ride booking app which allows clients to order a taxi on their phones. The app is similar to the technology employed by other companies, such as ride sharing companies. You can't pay fares on the app at this stage, although the Association says this is in the works. Our reporter Jonathan Sacramento told us more.

The Pope has appointed Apostolic Nuncio Mark Miles to Costa Rica. The Gibraltarian Archbishop has been the Apostolic Nuncio in the Republic of Benin. Previously he was the papal ambassador to the West African country, and became the first Gibraltarian priest to hold such a senior diplomatic role and to be ordained an Archbishop. We spoke to the Bishop Carmel Zammitt about the appointment as well as News Editor Christine Vasquez.

The MP for Finchley and Golders Green, Sarah Sackman has been appointed Solicitor General. In a statement, the Labour MP of Gibraltarian origin said that after 14 years of a Conservative Government people’s trust in the rule of law and in the integrity of politics needed to be restored. The Chief Minister has welcomed the appointment saying he’s particularly pleased to note the calibre of the appointments being made by the Labour Government. The Solicitor General advises the Crown and the Cabinet as deputy to the Attorney General. She spoke to GBC last week after the General election.

And, during the summer the Bay and Strait of Gibraltar is a hotspot for tuna fishing. It's a hot topic, both from a political and sporting standpoint. We had a discussion on this in the studio with is Sam Marrache of the Tuna Fishing Club, as well and Christian Balban-Torres who recently competed in Gibraltar's first ever tuna fishing competition.
