रोजाना दिए जाने वाले एंटीबायोयिक्स के डोज का कुल 44% बिना इजाजत वाली दवाइयां हैं। इसमें 1,098 यूनिक फॉम्युलेशन वाली और 10,100 यूनिक ब्रैंड की दवाए हैं। इसमें से केवल 46% दवाओं को सेंट्रल ड्रग्स स्टैंडर्ड कंट्रोल ऑर्गेनाइजेशन (CDSCO) के नियमों के तहत आते हैं। शाफी ने कहा कि कंपनियां राज्यों से बिना केंद्रीय रेग्युलेटर की इजाजत के ही लाइसेंस प्राप्त कर लेते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि केंद्र और राज्यों के बीच नियामक शक्तियों में उहापोह के कारण देश में एंटीबायोटिक्स की उपलब्धता और बिक्री को पेचीदा बना देता है। हालांकि इस रिसर्च में देश में केवल एंटीबायोटिक्स के दुरुपयोग को लेकर ही खोजबीन की गई है।

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), in its Vision 2047 document, has vouched for increasing the retirement age in the nation, and aligning it with life expectancy to ensure the viability of the pension system in India and provide adequate retirement benefits, reported The Economic Times on Monday.

The EPFO in its document said, "Increasing the retirement age, going forward, could be considered in line with the experience of other countries and will be key to the viability of pension systems."
