  • Don’t Go Breaking My Heart
Megan and Wendy watch and recap Hallmark Channel's Don't Go Breaking My Heart in today's new podcast episode. Listen in as they share their first impressions of the movie formerly known as Breakup Boot Camp, what they liked, what they wished for, and their favorite segment called "Did You See That?" We love to hear your thoughts on these movies too! Email the show at [email protected] and tell us how many stars you'd give Don't Go Breaking My Heart. Megan and Wendy share their thoughts about Don't Go Breaking My Heart which premiered on Hallmark Channel on March 27, 2021. News & Notes on Don't Go Breaking My Heart Don't Go Breaking My Heart was originally titled Breakup Boot Camp (and we think Hallmark should have kept the original title). Nina Weinman wrote this movie. She also wrote Playing Cupid (Love Ever After), Two for the Win (New Year, New Movies) and Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater (Countdown to Christmas 2020). The movie took place in Portland, Oregon but was filmed in Langely, British Columbia. As someone who has visited Portland several times, it was fun to see some familiar landmarks in the exterior shots. Italia Ricci (Miranda) has starred in hit shows like Designated Survivor, Chasing Life, Supergirl and coming soon to The Good Doctor. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Italia Ricci (@italiaricci) Mentioned in this Episode: What is the name of that song was at the end of Don't Go Breaking My Heart? It's called Wonder by Shawn Mendes. A NOOM sign was displayed at the rock climbing gym where Miranda and Ben squared off in a climbing challenge. A commercial for NOOM was played after that scene. • Chasing Waterfalls
Hallmark Channel's Spring Fling line up kicks off with Chasing Waterfalls starring Cindy Busby and Christopher Russell. Listen in as Megan and Wendy chat about what they liked and what they wished for. Plus, what will the girls say when asked if they'd let a handsome stranger blindfold them in the forest? Email the show at [email protected]. Megan and Wendy are Girls Gone Hallmark in this bonus episode. Listen as they recap and review Chasing Waterfalls which premiered on March 20, 2021. News and Notes About Chasing Waterfalls The movie was filmed in remote locations of British Columbia. The real Loon Lake Lodge and Retreat Centre was used as exterior shots for the movie's Pinestone Lake Lodge. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cindy Busby (@cindy_busby) Six Degrees of Cindy Busby In 2017 Cindy Busby starred as Stephanie in Date My Dad a family comedy/drama which aired for one season on UP TV. Cindy's character was the obvious love interest for single dad Ricky played by Barry Watson. Did they ever hook up? I can't recall - do you? We were fortunate enough to host the Date My Dad Facebook Live pre-show on UP TV's Facebook page. It was a fast and furious fifteen minutes for 10-weeks! We loved it and we loved Cindy Busby as Stephanie. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Megan and Wendy (@meganandwendylss) What is Chasing Waterfalls About? Chasing Waterfalls is about a photographer who sets out on a dream assignment to photograph some of the world's most elusive waterfalls. Then, as in all Hallmark movies, meets a handsome gentleman who pushes her outside of her comfort zone and the two eventually fall in love and kiss. The end. Would you ever let a man you met two days earlier blindfold you and lead you out into the depths of the wilderness? Never. No matter how good looking Christoper Russell is. Did Chasing Waterfalls Feature TLC? No. The Hallmark Channel movie Chasing Waterfalls does not feature the R&B female pop sensation TLC or even their hit song of the same name. The song was only used in the commercial. Megan shared that the TLC song is pretty dark and Hallmark basically romanticized the chorus to fit the movie narrative. Mentioned in this Episode Shout out to the guys at Deck the Hallmark for pointing out the names of the characters in this movie during their Spring Fling podcast review episode. Amy Atwater (Cindy Busby) and Mark North (Christopher Russell) are almost a little too on the nose, right? Find all episodes and shownotes on girlsgonehallmark.comFollow us on Instagram Email us! • Girls Gone Hallmark: Kid 90

Yes, we know Kid 90 was not a Hallmark Channel movie. If it was, the Soleil Moon Frye documentary would have has a completely different ending. But since there wasn't a new Hallmark movie, Megan and Wendy decided to recap and review Kid 90 currently streaming on Hulu. Email the show at [email protected].

Apple users: Please consider leaving us a rating and review here.

Megan and Wendy recap and review the documentary Kid 90.

    What is Kid 90 About?

Kid 90 is a 2021 documentary written and produced by actress Soleil Moon Frye. During the 1990s, Frye documented her life with a hand held video camera. The doc has been applauded for being "candid" and "extremely well done" but also criticized as being "boring" and "another poor little rich kid story."

Frye's documentary explores some dark threads but never really closes the loop on any specific topic other than answering her question about remembering the memories accurately.

The documentary features talking-head interviews with Brian Austin Green, Stephen Dorff, Mark Paul Gosselaar and a few others. There are also dozens of cameos of other well-known actors whom were captured on Frye's personal videos from the 90s.

For this 90s baby, the doc stirred up some fond memories about my own teenage years. It definitely was a different time - a little more free range, full of mistakes and digitally disconnected. I had hoped for a joyful walk down memory lane but Frye's portrayal of her experience has left me wondering if my peers were also that messed up.

Kid 90 had a lot of potential but instead of drilling down into subjects like the sexualization of young girls in Hollywood, body image, how rejection affects teens, the entertainment industry not being appropriate for child actors, mental health, privileged kids with too many freedoms, suicide, and the excessive access to drugs and underaged drinking were treated as drive-by conversations. Instead, the focus was on unpacking Soleil Moon Frye's home movies without any lesson learned.

    Soleil Moon Frye

Soleil Moon Frye starred in Punky Brewster which was a family television show that aired four season from 1984 - 1988. The show has recently been rebooted and is about Punky as a single mom. The original series as well as the new reboot streams on Peacock.

Soleil dipped her toe in the mommy blogger community several years ago with a now defunct blog called Moonfrye. She also wrote a parenting book called Happy Chaos in 2011. She is a mom of four and recently divorced after 22 years of marriage to ex Jason Goldberg.

    Feeling 90s Nostalgic

We had a good laugh about pagers and early 90s cellular phones during our recap and review of Kid 90. What do you remember from the era? Man, thank God no one was videotaping us to scrutinize thirty years later.

  • Fit for a Prince
Megan and Wendy wish they could get back the two hours wasted on watching Hallmark Channel's stand-alone movie "Fit for a Prince." But, they can't, so listen in as they talk about all the things they wished for from this movie and why "YOLO" is so damn funny on a t-shirt. Email the show at [email protected]. Megan and Wendy review Hallmark Channel new movies every Thursday in a bonus Girls Gone Hallmark podcast episode. Where You Can Find Reviews on IMDB IMDB is Wendy's favorite website to read reviews on every Hallmark movie. People are really dedicated to sharing their views and they'll let you know if they hate it. Click on REVIEWS located under +Add to Watchlist. There are both user and critic reviews to read. IMDB reviews are resourceful and entertaining! Curious to read reviews of your favorite Hallmark movies? Here's are links for a few of the movies we mentioned in today's review: Fit for a Prince Snowkissed A Winter Getaway Beverly Hills Wedding Taking a Shot at Love If I Only Had Christmas How was Fit for a Prince Similar to Cinderella? There were a few similarities between Fit for a Prince and the classic Cinderella story but we'd never call it a retelling of the fairytale. We'd say the story had a light sprinkling of Cinderella. Considering the main character was named Cindy Cordella which sounds similar to the name Cinderella. The two protagonists, Brooke and Julie, were definitely characters modeled after the wicked step-sisters. One might consider Margaret Hamilton to have shades of a fairy Godmother even though she didn't really do anything magical or special to help Cindy. And finally, the other seamstresses at the design house could be seen as Cinderella's helpful little mice dutifully sewing dresses for the wicked step-mother, Cindy's boss, Rebecca Raslyn. • It Was Always You – Movie Review
Megan and Wendy review "It Was Always You" for today's brand new Girls Gone Hallmark bonus episode. The movie features Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow and is the last in February's Love Ever After bunch. How will it compare to the others this year but and does Tyler Hynes' familiar gruff attitude make an appearance? Plus, are we "Hynies?"
Megan and Wendy review "It Was Always You "which premiered on the Hallmark Channel on February, 27, 2021 and stars Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow.
News & Notes About It Was Always You
Where was It Was Always You Filmed?
It Was Always You was filmed during December, 2020 in Victoria, British Columbia.
Who Stars in It Was Always You?
Erin Krakow and Tyler Hynes co-star in It Was Always You
Erin Krakow requested that Tyler Hynes play David opposite her, knowing that the fans really love him, he was a fit for the role and that she had never worked with him (via ETonline.com).
What is It Was Always You About?
Erin Krakow stars as Elizabeth - a type A, list-making, soon-to-be-bride - who finds herself spending a lot of extra time with the brother of her fiancé. David's nomad, easy-going, adventurous lifestyle pushes Elizabeth to rethink her life plan.
Erin Krakow is Not Wearing a Wig
Wendy thought Erin Krakow was wearing a wig for this movie but a deep dive into Erin's Instagram reveals that Wendy is simply incorrect. We've linked her Instagram below to show that she has the same, cute, hair on March 2, 2021 as she did while filming It Was Always You.

Related: Don't miss our review of Sweet Carolina, the latest Tyler Hynes movie on the Hallmark Channel!
What movies have Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow starred in?
Tyler Hynes is a Hallmark darling, having starred in seven movies (and made a cameo in one!) in the past two and a half years. Fans remember Tyler from hits like Sweet Carolina, Always Amore, Roadhouse Romance and An Expected Christmas.
True Hallmark fans know Erin Krakow as Elizabeth from When Calls the Heart. She has also starred in a number of Hallmark movies including Wendy's favorite A Cookie Cutter Christmas and the Father Christmas Trilogy.
    How Old Is Tyler Hynes?
Tyler Hynes is 35 years old, making him younger than both of us.
Did you know that fans of Tyler Hynes refer to themselves as "Hynies?" We learned this several months ago after reviewing the Countdown to Christmas movie On the 12th Date of Christmas (listen to our podcast review here).
As we swooned over Tyler Hynes' Instagram, we had to ask...are we Hynies? Better yet, are you?

Are Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow in a Relationship?
We honestly don't know the answer to this question. But, Megan thinks their photos of each other on their respective Instagram accounts feels "intimate." What say you?
