Girls Interrupting

We're feeling bloodthirsty this week as we discuss INSEXTS, a new horror comic from Marguerite Bennett and Ariela Kristantina. This gorgeously drawn title mixes sexy with gory as the two leading ladies build their love on top of the corpses of any men who stand in their way.

This month, The Girls enter the gorgeous, eerie world of MONSTRESS, the newest title from the creative team-up of Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda (who previously worked together on Marvel's X-23).

We tackle the biggest questions leveled by the story's first three issues: Can Magic and Government ever work hand in hand? Will the so-called Arcanic ""monsters"" successfully escape the Cumea and the Mother Superior? WHERE CAN WE GET A TALKING CAT WITH MULTIPLE TAILS?!

Join us on our new recurring segment, Previously On, where we reach back into the GI archives to catch up on titles we've discussed before.

In this episode, we're going all the way back to our pilot episode to talk about MS MARVEL, written by G. Willow Wilson with art by Adrian Alphona. In this arc, Kamala encounters a creepy new villain, a teleporting dog, and the queen of the Inhumans, all while discovering the origin of her powers, and what kind of hero she wants to be.

This month we indulged our villainous sides and posted ads for sidekicks on Craigslist after reading and loving NIMONA by Noelle Stevenson. We talk Deadpool, the possibility of new Young Justice episodes, and YET ANOTHER DC reboot? Finally, we get down to business in a space-travel themed edition of GAME BANGERS

After a bit of in-studio confusion over just WHICH PRINCELESS issues we were supposed to read, the Girls are quick to sing the praises of this adorable all-ages comic, written by Jeremy Whitley with art by Mia Goodwin, Emily Martin, Rosy Higgins, and Ted Brandt.

Are Marko and Alana breaking up? Who would win in a fight between Sweet Boy and Lying Cat? Will someone ever explain to us the facts of robot reproduction? Things get intense on this Regularly Scheduled Interruption as we discuss Volume 4 of SAGA by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples.

Someone gave Chip Zdarsky free reign over a creator owned book and the Girls COULD NOT resist checking it out. Which Girls loved it? Which ones DID NOT and are they now in a blood feud over this RIDICULOUS and silly world created from the mind of Zdarksy and drawn superbly by Kagan McLeod?! Find out in this week's Bite-Sized Girls Interrupting!

Time jumps, The Will's magic cloak, a dragon who loves himself very much, and a woman with unicorn horns. No punches are being pulled on this week's Regularly Scheduled Interruption, as Girls Interrupting dives back into SAGA Vol. 5! Also: WE. LOVE. GHUS! If you don't, you're wrong (We still love you though).

This week's Bite-Sized episode features podcast favorites Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott's new team-up from Image Comics. Which do we love more, the gorgeous and understated art, or the mysterious and suspenseful writing? Curl up with your Familiar and your best spellbook as we discuss BLACK MAGICK, issues 1 through 3!

The Girls are struck with Cupid's arrow as they take on the anthology comic FRESH ROMANCE by Rosy Press. Just before succumbing to their wounds, they talk about Star Trek & Independence Day 2 trailers, Star Wars, and the future of the Stargate Universe. Plus! Can Monica overcome her fangirl rage to win Game Bangers or will this month's game be another gripping but disappointing session for our losingest Game Bangers player?
