Self-awareness is considered the most important capacity for competent leadership. But awareness should go beyond the self and include the environment in which we are functioning. It goes further: not only should we be aware of the physical environment but of the spiritual environment as well. The spiritual environment is no less real, even though not tangible, than the physical environment.
