Patrick Laird started a summer reading program at Cal, had fans getting his stat line tatted on their thigh as a rookie with the Miami Dolphins and remains an intensely-curious individual to the bone. He's entering his fifth pro season in 2023, now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
We chatted about everything: His wild rise, the value of reading a good book in the Twitter Age, the concept of "free will" (he's not a believer) and how football can be such a powerful force of good. He knows such tribalism is core to our biology.
