We’re back from our week off and ready to talk Miami Vice. Now that we’ve completed season 1, we break down all of our favorite people and music. In this episode we talk about how we immediately fell in love with Crockett and our slow turn to Tubbs. The same with the B-Team and we fess up to some of our frustrations with how the Vice writers have handled Gina and Trudy.

After talking about the core Vice team, we break down why Izzy and Noogie are our favorite characters from the show. Then we play a game with all the best guest stars.

After the people we go into all of our favorite music segments. John confesses his love for Lunatic Fringe and Jenna admits her favorite song was the first one played in the pilot. Dominic on the other hand has trouble holding it together talking about Foreigner’s I Wanna Know What Love Is.

Holding the top spot for weeks cover in This Week in Vice is Rambo: First Blood Part II. I talked a little about this action-classic last week. Rambo would hold the top spot for 5 weeks and had the highest weekend debut, out-pacing Beverly Hills Cop.

But in this timeframe, three great comedy movies would be released:

On May 22, [Brewsters Millions] hit the box office starring Richard Pryor and John Candy. Based on the 1902 book of the same name, this is the seventh film based on the story. The story revolves around Monty Brewster, a minor league baseball pitcher, who inherits millions of dollars from his great-uncle with a catch. He can take $1 million up front or spend $30 million in 30 days to inherit $300 million. Starring two comedy legends its one of my favorite 80's comedies.

The week following, the action-comedy film Fletch) starring Chevy Chase was released and was a critical success. Now a cult hit, the film centers around a Los Angeles Times reporter who is offered a large payday to kill a millionaire with terminal cancer. When Fletch realizes the man is not sick he finds his own life is in danger. This is often considered Chevy Chase's best film.

Then on June 7, one of the all-time classics was released. Directed by Richard Donner, The Goonies premiered. The film is centered around group of pre-teens in Astoria, OR who are attempting to save their homes from demolition. In their adventures they discover an old Spanish map to unearth the lost treasure of One-Eyed Willy. With an great cast – including Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman and more – The Goonies is a fantastic adventure movie and carries its legacy generation after generation.
