Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat the Vice team hunts down a rogue foreign CIA agent with the help of the French police in the episode French Twist. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from Feb. 16 to the 22, 1986, when Miami Vice was King.

On Feb. 20 the Soviet Union launched the Mir Space Station into low Earth orbit. As the first modular space station, it would gain additional components from various other missions until 1996. The Mir was continously inhabited and welcomed scientists from several Asian, European and North American nations. The Mir Space Station would eventually be retired and would make Earth re-entry on March 23, 2001 after spending 5,510 days in orbit with 4,592 days occupied.

Finally, after 4 weeks at the top What Friends Are For relents and we have a new song at the top of the Hot 100. How Will I Know from Whitney Houston becomes her second number one song form her debut album. Released in 1985, the album had slow commercial response, but eventually generated three number one songs and sold over 30 million copies worldwide. The love/pop song crossover was a commercial and critical success and still one of the most memorable Houston songs of her career.

Down and Out in Beverly Hills will hold onto the weekend for two more weeks, but that's alright with me. This will give me a chance to talk about the amazing, fantastic Chuck Norris movie The Delta Force. Starring the one and only Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin in his final role, the film is a mess in all the right ways. Not only panned, but despised by critics, the action movie still finished third in the weekend behind Down and Out and The Color Purple, but finishes first in my heart. I love bad movies and the 80's is full of them.

This was a thing they made. It for real aired on a real TV network. In an extremely forgettable episode of Miami Vice, we have a ton of fun at the Tepper families expense. The story revolves around Frank and Danny Tepper. The father/son duo have some fantastic races. But we learn quickly that Frank is willing to admit he was a terrible Dad and tell Danny his mom was… promiscuous.

The episode goes from interesting, nonsensical and then ends when the writers just stopped showing up to work. We have a lot of fun with this episode, especially since after about 10 minutes, things stop making sense. Melissa has a bone to pick with a racer chaser. Dominic is obsessed with a 15 second scene between father/son. John introduces us to the most hilarious list of musical instruments.

A fun, but confusing episode of Miami Vice.

Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat the Vice team tracks down a race car driver that kills a prostitute in the very fast episode titled Florence Italy. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from Feb. 3 to Feb. 15, 1986, when Miami Vice was King.

On Feb. 7, a snap election was held between Corazon Aquino and President Ferdinand Marcos for President of the Philipines. The election was marred by fraud with Marcos being named the winner on Feb. 15. By Feb. 22 many viewed Marcos' win dubious and withdrew their support leading to Aquino becoming the first woman to be President.

On Feb. 8 the NBA Slam Dunk Contest included two Atlanta Hawks teammates facing off for the title. The 6' 8" Dominique Wilkins, the winner of the 1985 contest, was rocked by the 5' 7" champion Spud Webb. Some might say Spud Webb received extra points for degree-of-difficulty, but its obvious he's the greatest dunker of all-time.

For one more week What Friends Are For is still number one on the Hot 100. At number two is the excellent When the going gets tough, the tough gets going from English singer Billy Ocean. The song was the theme for the film The Jewel of the Nile. Released on the album of the same name and Ocean's own album Love Zone, it was a fantastic success. The music video even included Kathleen Turner, Danny DeVito and Michael Douglas lip-syncing backup vocals.

Supplanting The Color Purple at the top of the box office is the comedy Down and Out in Beverly Hills. The film is about a dysfunctional rich couple who save the life of a homeless man. Starring Nick Nolte, Bette Midler and Richard Dreyfuss I don't have much to say about this movie. The Color Purple is a far superior film and deserved to hold the top spot for at least one more week. Down and Out will be number one for 4 weeks, but I'll give you something to look forward to. By the time we get to the end of Down and Out's run, Pretty in Pink will move into the top spot.

It's time for Tubbs to pull a Crockett. This episode includes crayon drawings, angry hookers and a club called "Sex World". How can this episode be anything but fantastic. Of course, its Miami Vice, so the episode starts at Sex World. We twist and turn around as Jackie, labeled The Crayon Killer, takes more victims while Tubbs buys her innocent act hook, line and sinker.

But we have a huge turn of events at the end that makes sticking around through this episode all the more worthwhile. We watch Tubbs slowly turn from a Vice cop to a social worker, doing everything he can to help Jackie. Dominic wonders what's if prostitution is even illegal in Miami and questions the validity of a club called "Sex World" that doesn't have actual sex. Melissa asks Crockett to go to an alley, close his eyes and wait for the hose. John gushes about Tom Petty and has some strong words for Phil Collins By the end of the episode John and Melissa debate whether or not Jackie is a true "Black Widow Murderer".

A great episode of Miami Vice.

Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat Tubbs pulls a Crockett and falls for a serial killer in the episode titled Little Miss Dangerous. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from Jan. 27 to Feb. 2, 1986, when Miami Vice was King.

On Jan. 28, 73 seconds after takeoff at 11:39 EST the Space Shuttle Challenger broke apart killing all 7 crew members. The shuttle launch and disaster was watched live by millions of Americans due in part to the presence of Christa McAuliffe who would have been the first teacher in space. Many schools watched the launch in their classrooms, cheering on McAulfiffe. The cause of the accident would eventually be blamed on a failed O-ring seal on the solid rocket booster, setting off a chain reaction and a total structural failure. The Challenger disaster is still one of the most memorable moments in many peoples lives and its legacy has even outlived the space shuttle program.

What Friends Are For is still number one on the Hot 100. This week it gives me a chance to bring up Rocky IV again and the exceptional James Brown. Reaching number 4 on the Hot 100 and remaining in the Billboard Top 40 for 11 weeks is Living in American from the soul master himself James Brown. The song is used in Rocky IV for Apollo Creeds entrance before the unforgettable fight with Ivan. The song would win a Grammy award and would be the last top 40 hit from the legend.

Finally reaching the top spot is The Color Purple. Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, the film is about the problems African-American women faced in the early 20th. century. Directed by Steven Speilberg, The Color Purple also introduced Oprah and Whoopi Goldberg in their film debut. This movie was nominated for 11 Oscars, but in a shameful twist, did not win any awards. This is an amazing film from a fantastic cast and needs to be appreciated as one of the best in film history.

What an episode. We get a lot of firsts in this episode of Miami Vice. In an amazing twist, we get a for-real Canadian bad guy! John is flabbergasted! He can’t believe that a Canadian is capable of such crimes. We also get not one, but two amazing airplane flying montages. Crockett goes to see his “therapist” and shoots up an unsuspecting shooting range.

John is stuck on the Canadian criminal. Melissa really, REALLY wants to see what’s in that picture. Dominic has a thousand questions about a sea plane at an International Airport that lets you carry on an Uzi.

Its what Miami Vice does best.

Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat we meet for the first time in the history of cop shows, a French-Canadian gangster in the very polite episode titled One Way Ticket. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from Jan. 20 to Jan. 26, 1986, when Miami Vice was King.

On Jan. 23, the first inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced. An all-star lineup included James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Fats Domino, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Little Richard and the recently passed, but out of this world amazing Chuck Berry.

On Jan. 26, the Chicago Bears defeated the New England Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl 20. The game was completely dominated by the Bears, but lets get real. The most important win for America wasn't Walter Payton in the Super Bowl. It wasn't the Bears famed 4-6 defense or Mike Ditka locking up a win for one of the greatest teams in NFL history. Its far and away the "Super Bowl Suffle", the gem of a rap song from the team.

What Friends Are For is still holding the top of the Hot 100. Just below the Dionne Warwick classic is All I Need Is A Miracle from Mike and The Mechanics. Written by the Miami Vice and Go With The Heat favorite Genesis alumni Mike Rutherford, the song would eventually reach number 5 on the Hot 100. The song is a catchy, happy song that would be nominated for a Grammy Award…

1986 has a constant shuffle at the top of the box office and this weeks movie is a surprise. Starring Lou Gossett Jr. and Jason Gedrick, Iron Eagle wins the box office in what must have been a terrible weekend for movies. Iron Eagle is about a hotshot civilian pilot who is turned away from the Air Force but is forced to raise his own rescue team to save his father who's held captive in the fictional state of Bilya.

I'm sad to say I've never seen this movie. With this amazing plot line and three sequels, I will be fixing that very, very soon as this type of so-bad-its-good story fits me perfectly.

Sorry to say Melissa was just too sick to join us, but Dominic and John have a great time breaking down the okay-est episode of season 2. Dominic asks why an electronic store heiress needs to sell cocaine. John is still worried about the amount of coked out stewardesses on airplanes.

Hi pals, coming up this week on Go With The Heat Crockett brings down an heiress that wants to make one big score episode Yankee Dollar. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from Jan. 12, to Jan. 18, 1986, when Miami Vice was King.

On Jan. 16, the Internet Engineering Task Force met for the first time in San Diego, CA. In particular, the IETF develops standards, including TCP/IP. Although this isn't exciting news, the IETF is an integral part of the internet you know and love today.

At the top of the Hot 100 is charity song What Friends Are For by Dionne Warwick with Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder. The song is a cover of the 1982 Rod Stewart ballad of the same name. Dionne and Friends released What Friends Are For as a charity single for AIDS research, ulitmately raising $3M. The song would win a Grammy for Best Performance by a group and Song of the Year.

After many weeks at the top, Rocky IV finally gives up the top spot. Reaching the top spot and replacing the glorious Rocky is Out Of Africa staring Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. The epic romantic drama was also a visual masterpiece, winning 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director.

After a few misses recently, we have a real good episode of Miami Vice. Once again (AGAIN) Sonny falls in love with a random woman who throws herself at him. And once again (AGAIN) a huge case just throws itself right in the Vice teams lap. We have a lot of opinions on Sonny’s love life and relish in the moment where Castillo has to admit he was wrong.

John tells us all about the music including a band with a spoken word album about veganism. Dominic hopes Sonny steps on Callie’s sandcastle. Melissa is salty we have to watch an episode with Ted Nugent. Plus, we’re all sweaty just watching this episode.
