  • Episode 107: Who's your Commander? Meet Gregory Sablan

Hello, Podwalkers, and welcome back to the Goblin Lore Podcast! Today Hobbes sat down with one of the newest members of the Commander Advisory Group (CAG) to discuss this new role. This is Gregory Sablan who is Active Duty Military. We discuss everything from the representation of the military in Magic, to his new role, to the altering of Magic Cards (check out the site he runs on FB). We are excited to start this discussion about service members (and veterans) who play magic and how that voice is being heard by the CAG and RC!

  • Episode 106: Princess Lily and the Food Vendors of Ravnica

Hello, Podwalkers, and welcome back to the Goblin Lore Podcast! Today we have Princess Lily here to talk about... well a lot of things. We do manage to keep on topic early on as we discuss her upcoming Charity Commander Spectacular in aid of TransLifeline which will be 3/13/21 and Hobbes will be stopping by for some MtGO Commander (there's a lot of other really cool people involved but you'll have to listen). After discussion of this event we cover everything from Lily's experience as a Transwoman in Magic, her work as a Community builder, and then the rails just fall off. Somehow food got brought up? And then Street Vendors and Food on Ravnica?*

  • Episode 103: Ok but what is a sandwich?

Hello, Podwalkers, and welcome back to another episode of the Goblin Lore Podcast! And we are back with our Fourth Episode Using The Color Pie to discuss one of our top 3 Topics (Food). With each episode we find ourselves refining our Color Pie Theory for Food/Cooking and today's episode will continue that "refinement". Now we also realized that language is interesting which means we went down the Rabbit Hole of "What is a Sandwich?" which led us to a hilarious article that we mention from the Minnesota Law Review. We also get to mock Alex for just now discovering how amazing the Binging with Babish You Tube Channel is (trust us, go watch this episode).

Hello, Podwalkers, and welcome back to the Goblin Lore Podcast! Today we have a little discussion on deckbuilding and ways to both personalize and to use your deck to tell a story. Hobbes is joined on today's episode by Dan Rothbart (aka @majin_shinsa on Twitter) to talk about his Kenrith deck built around the interplay between the King and Kingdom. The second half of the episode talks about Hobbes's latest Project. Bringing Grenzo to shine by creating a deck using Artist Proofs? Don't know what those are? We got you covered there too!

Hello, Podwalkers, and welcome back to the Goblin Lore Podcast! We are now on the other side of our 100th episode and ready to bring all new content. This episode is a collaboration with our friend Meghan (aka Sheepwave) and an exploration of Niko, a Non-Binary Planeswalker that shows up on Kaldheim. This episode uses the discussions found on the mother ship (as well as this tweet thread) to explore this character and why their identity is important for representation within the game. Meghan also discusses her relationship with Alesha, the fantastic short store The Truth of Names, and what brought her back to Magic after a break when she was younger.
