I love praying the promises of God. But before we do that, let’s make sure we’re praying things that God has actually promised. For example, just about every Christian has Jeremiah 29:11 somewhere in their house, but does it apply to us today? And can you really, as some say, name it and claim it? Maybe you’ve heard the phrase before that God said it, I believe it, and that settles it. But does that really settle it? You’ll find out the answer to all those questions today on the Cross References podcast.

And we know that salvation isn’t earned by our good works- but do we have to do good works to keep our salvation? You’ll find out today on the Cross References podcast.

Theologian Dr. Michael Brown says the only reason we like the prophets is that they are dead. If they were alive, we’d probably be trying to kill them. I hope that’s not true but it’s such a profound thought. Would we have listened to the Biblical prophets or would we have despised them if they were alive today? We’ll discuss that idea today on the Cross References Podcast.

Ezekiel’s big vision from God lasted four chapters, from number 8 through 11, and today we’re at the end. So how does it all wrap up? And why do some churches probably need to drop the word “church” from their name? And can the Gospel of Jesus be found in the Old Testament book of Ezekiel? The average life expectancy in America is 77 to 78 years years. It’s not that long in the scope of eternity. And yet, for a short lifetime of sins, an unbeliever has to spend forever and ever in hell. How can that be fair? This is a question Christians have wrestled with for the past 2,000 years, and one that we’ll do our best to make sense of today on the Cross References podcast.

In Luke 16, Jesus tells a story about a place in the afterlife known as Abraham’s Bosom. What is that all about? Also, there are several different Greek and Hebrew words that all get translated as “hell,” but they all have unique meanings. So why does the Bible have so many different words for hell? You’ll find out today on the Cross References podcast.

Do we follow the Old Testament law? Most of us would say no, that we’re not “under the law,” as the New Testament says. But what about the 10 Commandments? Most of us would still hang the 10 Commandments in our living room, or at least our bathroom, and we’d still say those apply, right? Well, they’re part of the Law. So do we follow the Law or not? We’ll hash those issues out today on the Cross References podcast.
