Here, again we see Agape love of God. We see God for giving his people; upon their repentance. He reminds them of the rebellion of their fathers. He lets them know that he is looking up on them with the same indignation. However if when they repent he will remove the hindrances and the hinderers out of their lives and replace it all with prosperity, love, and peace.

Again today we see the patience of God and the love of God to his people that are severely rebellious and disrespectful. Again he instructs as to how to change the current events through repentance and reverence for him and his commands.

A call to repentance for believers and judgments for all that have rebelled and disregarded God.

Though the promise of God’s judgments are slow to come they are coming.

We see here again how the Lord reminds his people of how good he has been to them and they continue to neglect him and he is provoked bring righteous judgment.

The lesson to be learned from this story and especially from the beginning chapter is that you can’t hide from God. Let us be wise and just do what he has commissioned us to do that we might be blessed and saved.

This word from the Lord through Obadiah is one that depicts the scripture, Galatians 6:7, be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

In this lesson for today we see that God is saying that He has enough of the disrespect for him from people that he has kept blessed. Therefore he is going to destroy them. Because when they want to know what to do they will not be able to hear from him.

In this last chapter of the book of Joel we find that God is having the prophet to speak to the people and that he is going to exact justice for the people that took advantage of his people and that God’s people will come out glorious after all of this is done. God‘s people will be delivered.

In this we find that the agape love of God is at work. That is God has the prophet speaking to his people to let them be reminded that he sent the prophets to them to speak words that he would bring recompense upon their lives for violation of his will and his word. But however for those that are righteous he has a good harvest for them in the end.
