What happens if you need to go to the doctor in another country? Scary, right? Worried you won't receive the same quality of care you would at home? What if I told you that in Taiwan (and many other countries) you would receive top-notch care at a mere fraction, perhaps a decimal, of the price of care in America?
In this episode, Marjorie invites her friend Laura to chat about their experiences with glorious wonder that is the Taiwanese healthcare system, from casual check ups to major surgery.
Note: Just like our previous bonus episode, How Taiwan beat COVID for over a year... until it didn't, this episode requires an update. There are discussions of Taiwan's incredible COVID success, which was true until May 2021. In May, Taiwan had a COVID outbreak that put the country into semi-lockdown. The points Marjorie and Laura make in the episode regarding Taiwan's success are still valid, but the situation in Taiwan has changed since then.
