    1. (15:32) While preparing this sermon, were there any parts you wished you would have had more time to draw out?
    2. (17:01) Could you elaborate on the God that IS? It’s so easy to think of Old Testament God as mean and the New Testament God as kind.
    3. (23:01) How can someone understand the priesthood of the believers if they are not very familiar with priests?
    4. (26:43) Because God is our mediator, should we pray to Jesus? Or God the Father? Or does it matter?
    5. (27:48) What did the priests “do” that actually mediated between God and the Israelites?
    6. (31:07) Kevin, you asked “Where do you take God too lightly?” - In what ways do you see that we can be too casual in our reverence to God today?

(12:28) Hot Topic: According to a recent Barna study, in the last 5 years, commitment to Jesus has risen dramatically among millennials and Gen Z, but church attendance hasn’t.

    4. (55:15) So, if it’s not about the sacrifice, why does the sacrifice matter? Why can’t a rich person bring a handful of flour? Thanks.
    5. (58:24) When it talks about forgiveness and restoration plus a fifth, what would it actually look like to Christians to embrace that kind of repentance since our culture usually settles for quick apologies.

    3. (26:26) Why do some sacrifices not have a sweet aroma?
    4. (27:13) Is there any connection between the pleasing aroma and smoke from the burnt offerings? It seems like the altar represents earth, the fire is transformation, and the smoke is ascension to heaven with its pleasing aroma. Is this line of thinking off base? Thanks.

    6. (34:49) What does it actually look like to be “all in” with God in daily life?

(17:12) Discussion & Member Questions: Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about

    1. (21:10) Was just listening to episode 47 and had a question. In episode 47, Kevin mentioned how detrimental to our health and the pace of American life is. How can we practically slow down and keep a more reasonable pace when there is so much pressure for hustle?
    2. (27:58) Thanks for not being scared of Leviticus. It is not a boring book of Scripture & so many ignore it! & I grew up in a church that went through Leviticus often. Why do you think some people avoid it?
    3. (33:30) Do you have any tips or advice on the best way for the church to read along as we go through the series?
    4. (36:59) I’ve always heard of people using Scripture out of context and try to understand the context when I’m reading my Bible and applying it to life. So it seems Leviticus was written to the Jewish people. How do we make the connections that what was said to them is for us today? Is it simply all of the Bible is for everyone? & For those who feel like this is just old covenant, how is it still applicable today?
    5. (46:04) Do you think the Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament is a pre-incarnate Jesus or something else? It’s interesting because the Angel of the Lord is not mentioned in the New Testament. Thanks!
    6. (48:23) Could you talk some more about the chart or outline of Leviticus and the different people that the sections are written to?
    7. (50:15) When it comes to holiness, we can tend to think that it’s a losing battle. It can feel overwhelming or discouraging. As we study Leviticus, what mindset should we bring to the idea of holiness?

    1. (19:44) What is the difference between christian friends and a discipling relationship?
    2. (22:06) How do you determine that you are a “step ahead” of someone else spiritually?
    3. (27:16) Kevin, you mentioned when you come to somebody, you should have a set period of time and something to go over. Can you give some examples of what you have gone over with someone?
    4. (31:11) What is a reasonable amount of time to ask someone to disciple you?
    5. (33:38) What does that time together doing discipleship practically look like?
    6. (43:10) We looked at the 10/40 window…Why is it that India is so unreached? (A lot of red dots)
    7. (45:21) Why is it that there were red dots in the U.S. and other well-developed countries? I often think of unreached people groups as undeveloped areas.
    8. (46:06) Could you talk about the 10/40 initiative and what you intend to use the $10.40 given regularly for?
    9. (52:46) We had to cut the livestream at the end because of using names and details that are too sensitive to share. Could you give a summary of what you wanted to share in that time without sharing those sensitive details?

    2. (26:46) Why is the order of these marks of a healthy disciple so important?
    3. (30:00) Can you talk about this idea of worship being a sacrifice? Could you give some examples?
    4. (36:35) How is financial giving “the grace of God poured out?”
    5. (39:03) It is easy to fall into an exchange mindset when we give to God…If I give this, God will give me…When we give, what should we actually expect from God?

  • Episode 45 | We're Back! Goals & Resolutions, Styles of Communion, Being a Self-Feeder, and Being Relationally Accountable

    (0:30) Catching Up

(6:05) Question of the Day:  What are your goals/resolutions for the year?

(13:22) Hot Topic: Why do churches in the U.S. practice communion so differently? Why do we do what we do?

    Discussion & Member Questions:

    1. (24:15) We just started a new series! Why did you both feel it was important to go through the marks of a healthy disciple now?
    2. (27:10) While preparing this sermon, were there any parts you wished you would have had more time to draw out?
    3. (32:45) What would you say to someone who has had maybe a poor experience in a community group or a d-group and they’re thinking that they’ve tried it and it’s not for them?
    4. (36:50) Have you noticed that in many families, one spouse often becomes the primary driver of community for the family?
    5. (45:29) In the last sermon, we talked about being all things to all people and surrendering our freedom to win some. Do y’all have examples in our everyday lives beyond things like alcohol and not eating certain foods because of religious differences? I’m curious so I can be more aware.
    6. (52:28) What are some good places to start if you don’t currently have a plan? Do you have some favorite ways to study the Bible or books to go through?
    7. (55:35) Steve, you shared that 36% say they “rarely respond to God’s word with obedience and faith.” What do these statistics reveal to you and why do you think there’s a gap between hearing God’s Word and actually living it out?

(1:01:18) Celebration: SALT Conference, Year-End Giving, and Healthy Disciple Participiation

  • Episode 44 | Last Episode of 2025, Favorite Christmas Albums, Kids & Santa, and Living Without Fear

(3:16) Question of the Day:  What is your favorite Christmas album?

(9:34) Hot Topic: Should we tell our kids that Santa is real?

    Discussion & Member Questions:

    1. (22:16) Preaching 2 services every Sunday isn’t easy. I’m sure this changes week to week, but do you feel like you second sermon is easier to deliver or gets better because it’s the 2nd time you’re doing it or are there times where 1st service goes so well it’s hard to top? I think back to Steve’s interesting cross illustration on the white board as an example lol
    2. (27:34) Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about
    3. (30:00) The sermon series focusing on waiting prompted me to ask the question…if I am truly waiting, and longing for the Christ’s return. I find I’m hesitant to long for His return because my children haven’t professed faith yet. I’ve believed that at the “rapture” my husband and I will be taken and my children left behind if it happens before they believe.
    4. (35:25) How does fearing the Lord differ from being afraid of him?
    5. (40:34) The Bible says that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. How do we walk in that power when maybe we do have a legitimate reason to be afraid?
    6. (48:48) How does understanding God’s power change the way we process fear differently than just knowing his promises?

    (51:43) Celebration: Community Groups
