    (2:05) Question of the Day:

What was your favorite subject in school?

    What was your least favorite?

    (13:25) Hot Topic:

There has been a lot of discussion around revival lately. What is revival? How do we recognize it, prepare for it, or take part in it?

    Discussion & Member Questions:

(20:50) What denomination are you guys?

(24:18) Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about

    1. (27:26) While preparing this sermon, were there any parts you wished you would have had more time to draw out?
    2. (30:18) What would you recommend for spouses who grew up differently and disagree on some of those second-tier issues. For example, my spouse believes we should not drink a drop of alcohol, but I don’t have a problem with it.
    3. (36:50) It says that Paul opposed Peter to his face. How should one go about arguing about something that matters? Like especially regarding salvation?
    4. (43:40) Peter's behavior suggests that Christians cannot become pleasing to God unless they become Jewish. How should we understand what it really means to be “pleasing to God?”

    Discussion & Member Questions:

(21:35) Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about

  • Episode 31 | Catching Up, Breakfast, Chaos on Social Media, Making Faith Your Own, and People-Pleasing

    (4:45) Question of the Day:

What do you eat for breakfast every day?

    (10:48) Hot Topic:

What I'm observing this past week is a very negative and chaotic social media after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. As the pastors of The Chapel, how can we navigate this tumultuous landscape?

    Discussion & Member Questions:

(20:38) Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about

    1. (22:50) Galations 1:12 says, “For I did not receive the gospel from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ” Can we talk about how we often think of Christianity as something we were taught? How can we make our faith our own and understand that it comes from God and not from a person?
    2. (30:28) We talked about a broken past being covered and the believer who grew up in the church and has a clean story, but what about the believer listening right now who is struggling. We look at Paul’s past, but what about struggling after being saved with struggles in general?
    3. (37:05) The sermon this week had a theme of people-pleasing. I asked AI to share the top questions people google about people pleasing. Are these are the right questions to be asking? Or what questions do you hope we ask ourselves after this Sunday’s sermon?
    4. (42:22) I want to address the extreme of when someone decides to no longer be a people pleaser and to not care what anyone thinks. It is easy to come off selfish or uncaring. Can you touch on that extreme?

  • Episode 30 | Best Money Spent, Reading the Whole Bible, Confrontation, New Series, and Reversing the Gospel

    (4:12) Question of the Day:

What is the best service or thing you have spent your money on?

    (8:36) Hot Topic:

According to Lifeway Research, only 13% of Christians have read the whole Bible and only 9% have read it more than once.

    • Why do you think so many Christians have not read the whole Bible?
    • Is it important that a Christian actually read the whole thing?
    • If so, how would you recommend doing it?

    Discussion & Member Questions:

    • (17:45) What is the best way to confront someone I'm discipling about their sin?
    • (22:05) What is the next step after you present the gospel to someone?
    • (26:10) We started a new series! Why did you choose Galations?
    • (29:25) Kevin, you talked about how sometimes people add to the gospel…You gave an example of someone who wore shorts every Sunday because he grew up in a church where he wasn’t allowed to wear shorts. Were those the types of frivolous things being added to the gospel back then? (Obviously not shorts…but you get what I’m saying)
    • If someone has come to The Chapel from a church that emphasized customs, traditions, or rules, what is the right way to respond? Should we just go do all of the things we were told we can’t do?

    • (33:51) Steve, what are some subtle ways we might be “reversing the gospel” in our everyday lives without realizing it?
    • (35:58) How does our American understanding of the term “freedom” affect how one might share the gospel here in America?
    • (40:10) What would a church under God’s curse look like today or what does that mean in today’s terms?

  • Episode 29 | Guests Aaron and Conner, Planned Worship, and Being A Church That Worships

(0:30) Welcome, Prayer, and Introducing Guests

(2:44) Hot Topic: Some churches focus heavily on creating a worship experience where people can 'encounter God' in fresh, emotional, or even spontaneous ways. Others emphasize structure, consistency, and a carefully planned service. Is one approach better than the other, and how do we find the right balance between authenticity and intentionality in church gatherings?

    Discussion & Member Questions:

    (10:19) Sermon Recap: Kevin

(12:49) 1. Conner and Aaron, what was the main thing you hoped the church would take from your piece in the service?

(22:38) 2. What are some things we can think about or ask ourselves to discern if we are false worshipers?

(35:35) 3. What does it look like to worship throughout the week?

  • Episode 28 | Guest: Andrew Reilly, Dream Jobs, AI for Therapy, SALT Update, and Reaping and Sowing

    (0:28) Introduce Guest/Kevin is Back!

    (4:28) Question of the Day:

What was everyone’s first dream job?

    (12:08) Hot Topic:

In the last week or two, there have been several articles published about “AI psychosis” which is where someone will lose a grip on reality…AI is emotionally stable and can feel safe to talk to especially since there’s no judgement. What guidance can you give for this? Does there come a point where it’s too much? Are there questions we can ask ourselves to provide a boundary or guardrail to guide how much we are depended on it.

    Discussion & Member Questions:

(21:19) 1. In Isaiah 14:12, it says, “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!”

And in Revelation 22:16, Jesus says, “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”

My question is: Why is the same title “Morning star” used for both the figure in Isaiah (traditionally associated with Lucifer) and for Jesus in Revelation?

(28:57) 2. Which groups is more difficult to reach with the gospel: College Students or Adults?

(36:32) 3. Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday and why Andrew preached at LSU

(45:33) 4. How do we stay focused on sowing seeds and not just growing numbers or our reputation?

(49:19) 5. What about when you sow faithfully but don’t see results? Does there come a point where you’re not seeing the fruit and back off or do you keep going?

(54:32) 6. What are some things we can do personally to think of “sending” as a calling and not a church program we participate in? How do we stay aware of our sentness?

    Question of the Day:

(2:27) What is an unpopular opinion you have?

    Hot Topic:

(5:49) The IRS has submitted a court filing that would allow political endorsements from the pulpit without risking the tax-exempt status. If the IRS allows this, would that strengthen the Church’s impact on culture or distract from the gospel? Would it unify the church around biblical values or further divide congregations?

    Discussion & Member Questions:

    1. (12:54) What are some practical ways to establish a Sabbath with young kids. Feels like it’s difficult to incorporate rest.

    2. (17:17) What is the difference between having faith God could do something and that he will do something. I am praying for something I believe God could do, but I don’t know that he will. Does that mean I lack faith?

    3. (22:10) My boss criticizes rather than teaches how to do things correctly. I can’t change him. Any Advice?

(24:25) Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about

    4. (26:38) What are we missing out on when we come to church to consume and be served?

    5. (29:33) How was this message different from what a church member might be hearing when they are constantly hearing ‘we need more volunteers’ announcements?

    6. (32:29) Is it important for couples to serve together? Or is it better for them to serve in their gifts?

    7. (33:38) How does The Chapel care for church members who are serving?

    8. (36:50) What is your dream for how the church would think bout a Sunday morning?

    (24:24) What is dispensationalism

    3. (39:35) What questions can we ask ourselves to gauge our level of complacency.
    4. (45:35) Toward the end of the service, we were challenged to quiet our heart enough to hear God knocking. What are some things we can do to slow down, have shalom, and quiet our heart to hear God knocking?

    (30:24) Discussion & Member Questions:

Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about

    1. (32:43) While preparing this sermon, were there any parts you wished you would have had more time to draw out?
    2. (35:03) Is it necessary or helpful to tell someone you forgive them regardless of whether they asked for it or not?
    3. (40:16) Can we talk about cancel culture for a minute? How should Christians respond to cancel culture and is there ever a point where it is okay to “cut someone off?”
    4. (43:10) Difference between reconciliation and restoration
    5. (45:50) What if there is someone listening and they say…there’s someone I have “cut off”. What should they do? Should they pursue reconciliation or just forgive in their heart and move on? How would you approach beginning reconciliation?
    6. (53:16) We talked about how the gospel doesn’t produce more natural living. It moves us toward the supernatural. What would it look like if the church resisted cancel culture?
