Mortal Kombat has always been 100% about finishing him and the fatalities and now we are graced with the newest chapter in the MK Mythos from Warner Bros Animation. It takes us back to the reasons why Scorpion hates the Lin Kuei after his village and family is slaughtered by the familiar blue clad ninjas.

Admittedly, while we have been upset about many movies, we were anticipating being pushed back to later this year and even next year the real industry taking massive losses is the actual theaters themselves. AMC Theaters, not to mention Regal, Cinemark and many other theater chains were all experiencing issues even before the #COVID-19 #StayAtHome restrictions.

One season, Ten Episodes, and not renewed for a second season. This was IDW Entertainment’s entry into the live action comic book translation onto small screen. This Supernatural, Drama, Horror (yes, I am watching something classified as Horror) series didn’t survive but why?

OK, human nature is dark. I don’t care what you may say or think about that statement but it is 100% true. Why else do we have horror movies, documentaries on serial killers and every movie highlighting fear or tragedy? So, while we are practicing social distancing let’s take a look at some of the movies and shows where we lose our minds as a collective.

Set in the Altered Carbon universe especially with the characters Takashi and Reileen the brother and sister team are protecting a girl connected to organized crime. The animation style reminds me of the Borderlands video games which in my humble opinion is a great style for video games but doesn’t appeal to me for a somewhat feature length show.

COVID-19 or the Rona has people avoiding large gatherings and movies getting pushed back but I am here to watch the movies that are being released and stuff that can keep you entertained. Let me start off by saying I have never read a Bloodshot comic book ever in my life. The one thing I can say from the first few moments of this movie it had major Robocop vibes and Vin Diesels stoic demeanor fits perfectly but let’s discuss it further….

This week we are going to talk about Altered Carbon Season 2 and will there be a season 3? Also, as an extra bonus you get to call in to ask questions at the end of the show. So, is Altered carbon better with Anthony Mackie? I can tell you this, immortality sucks…

GoingFullNerd Synopsis  Altered Carbon had that Blade Runner feel in the previews so I was expecting to blow through that show pretty quick because I thought I had seen it all.  I was wrong horribly wrong. Here are some non-spoiler basics about the show:  The only way you truly die is if a small chip called a “stack” is destroyed.   Your body can take insurmountable damage as long as the stack which contains your consciousness is unharmed.     You can then be "re-sleeved" into a new body.  This brings us to a specially trained soldier/mercenary is brought back to life to solve the murder of an aristocrat by the aristocrat himself.  The twists and turns along with integration of what we can call a futuristic society gone wild it is definitely not for children.  The nudity and sexual situations and extreme violence will have you on the edge of your seat.    This is not something to watch if you can’t get invested in the multiple plotlines which all kept me on the edge of my seat.     Netflix is investing some serious money in these originals and I like it.  This is visually magnificent and the story and plot lines are well thought out.  This is a great look and an intriguing watch.  I give it a 4 out of 5 because of some of the un needed in my opinion graphic sex and nudity that really doesn’t further the story.  Altered Carbon has gained a fan because I love a good murder mystery and you have to beat the player not the game.
