  • Why Don’t You Celebrate Easter?
For some, this coming Sunday is considered the holiest day of the year as churches join together to celebrate Easter. It is surprising and confusing to some of this group that there are Christians who do not celebrate in the same way. Why is this? This study focuses on the above question and proclaims the power of Jesus’s resurrection.

  • Understanding Mercy in the Book of Exodus
God’s mercy is what can bring peace of mind to a sinner ready to change. Though judgment may be merited, God over and over tells us that His mercy is available for the taking. The foundation for understanding this is seen throughout the Old Testament as God teaches this concept in His dealings with His people of Israel. This lesson focuses on learning about God’s mercy in the book of Exodus.

  • God has Always Loved a Cheerful Giver
Generosity has long been an important topic in Christian teaching but the reason why one should be generous may not have received as much attention. One interesting reason for generosity is God’s desire for us to be vested in our beliefs. This idea, which is seen in the construction of both the tabernacle and temple, is one readily seen in being a part of God’s church.

  • The Song of Moses & the Song of the Lamb
Singing has played a pivotal role in the history of humanity. Songs have been sung to show joy, encourage victory in battle, demonstrate sadness, and display a host of other emotional experiences. The most important use of song is in glorifying God and the Bible records several that have been sung for that purpose. In fact, the first and last recorded songs in the Bible demonstrate how God can be trusted because of His glory and power. This study focuses on a better understanding of the Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb and the lessons they teach to modern worshipers.

  • Sodom and Gomorrah
History books abound with places that live in infamy because of terrible events associated with their past. From very ancient times, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah hold such infamy because of the wickedness of their citizens and the destructive judgment the Lord rendered on them. Throughout the Bible, prophets warned nations not to follow in the paths of these cities lest they, too, be overthrown. This study gives a biblical overview of the infamy of Sodom and Gomorrah and use the biblical warnings concerning these ancient cities to make very applicable admonitions to modern society.

  • Remember Lot's Wife
One of the most obscure characters of the Old Testament is a woman whose name is never given; rather, she is simply identified as the wife of Lot. However, her obscurity is lessened when our Lord used her as an admonition by stating, “Remember Lot’s Wife.” This lesson puts an emphasis on being prepared when judgment comes from God. From this ancient story, valuable lessons can be gained so that we do not make the same tragic mistake she made so many years ago.

  • Living on the Edge of the Promised Land
This study focuses on the life of Lot and the consequences of the choices he made. From this, we can learn the necessity of thinking long-term concerning our own choices.

  • The Household of Stephanas
Though we know nothing of the family, Paul pays a great compliment to the household of Stephanas when he wrote, “They have devoted themselves to the service of the saints” (I Corinthians 16:15). How did they do this, especially considering they lived in a wicked place and were a part of a church riddled with problems?
