Hot Take: Prequels can make or break a series. Look, it took Maddie a whole month and half to get through this book and it left her so unmotivated to get to Heir of Fire but THANK THE SUN GODDESS, she finished it and moved on! Maddie had just finished Heir of Fire that we recorded over Assassins Blade it is heavily evident that she just wants to move onto the third book lol. But, let us appreciate what this prequel has done for Maddie and her reading journey of Throne of Glass and has given her so much context for the other books and makes every devastating discovery even more detrimental, lol.

This is your warning, we talk about all of SJMs series in this episode, so you've been cautioned about spoilers. Celeana is ABSOLUTELY THAT BITCH and Maddie has finally fully submerged herself into the world of Elirea! After such a slow start, she is SPRINTING to finish this series before CC3 release next Tuesday and honestly, the effort is valiant but she's got to work a miracle before then lol. Maddie was NOT a fan of Rowan but its okay, we all knew she'd have a major change of heart by the end of the book so rest assured, she is onboard the Rowan bandwagon but she is still keeping that grudge, begrudgingly. Tori goes back and forth on which book is better, Heir of Fire or Queen of Shadows and I just wonder how anyone could have a favorite in this series, the decision is an impossible one!

Y'all this book was LONG OVERDUE, and even that isn't an exaggeration enough! We read this book well into the middle of December and are finally talking about it and I feel like we need to give justice to Tisaanah, Max, and Carissa lol. This book was so creative and devastating in the development of the characters which really set them a part from other fantasy novels we've read in the past. Maddie absolutely loved the book while Tori is convinced the audiobook narrator made her space out the entire story so this might be a book best enjoyed on kindle or a physical copy!

What in the Wattpad did we just read? Offside by Avery Keelan was a nostalgic lovable fever dream of a hockey romance story that was giving Maddie flashbacks to her Anna Todd After days. This book was both a tire fire (iykyk) but it was also was so much fun and Chase was kinda a dream man? Like so supportive, sweet, protective, and sex positive? What a man what man what a man what a mighty fine man! Anyways off to dream about our Troy & Gabriella singing in the bleachers moment! Love you little smut gremlins.

We are kicking our feet and grinning like fools today after finishing The Serpent & The Wings of Night! Tori was nervous for this one after seeing some meh reviews but by the end we couldn't sink our teeth into it fast enough. While this book has all the tropes we adore, Carissa made them feel new and kept us on our toes the whole time. This book had some series twists that we did NOT see coming which we appreciate as girlie pops who read too much a predict too much (at least maddie does, tori is usually just here for the funsies)
