Cousins, this week we’re learning why Krump is so much more than a dance.
In Episode 41, Necia and Hailey sit down with Miami Krump 305 representative and community leader Elijah El, also known as “Intense,” for an inspiring conversation about dance, faith, discipline, self expression, and community.
Elijah introduces us to the history and culture of Krump, explains the difference between Krumping and clowning, and shares how he discovered a passion that became a powerful outlet for expression. We also get to know the difference between Elijah, the man of God and husband, and “Intense,” the performer who comes alive through movement.
As former dancers themselves, Necia and Hailey reflect on their own backgrounds in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and African dance as the three discuss how dance and their shared faith have strengthened them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
We also learn about the South Florida Krump community and how Krump is being used to create safe spaces for expression, mentorship, discipline, creativity, and positive community impact.
This conversation is about more than choreography. It’s about discovering healthy ways to express what’s inside of you and using your gifts to positively impact the people around you.
Tap in, cousins, and meet Elijah “Intense” El as we step inside the culture, purpose, and power behind Krump.
