  • Friday | 12/4/2020 | Strawberries BBQ Meets Good Morning Aurora

Food was the topic this morning and what a discussion we had! We were glad to have Strawberries BBQ (Eddie Silva & Jordan Jeffries) on the show for a chat this morning. Ribs, wings, pulled pork; the choices are many and they’ve become a community staple. These two friends can be found at McCarty Mills (along with your favorite morning news show) frequently cooking and having a good time. The community has undergone a lot of changes and the pandemic has been a challenge as well. While our restaurants are doing their best it’s good to see new opportunities become available for all. We wish these two the very best and much success. Chili each Sunday for the month of December. Tasty news for you right there!

Shouts go out to the Soto family, the Aurora Public Art Commission and all Aurora artists. Great artwork can be seen in downtown Aurora so please be safe and check it out. Unity and community, quite the message indeed. We had a friend of the show on today for a great interview. We were joined by Mary Fultz of the CAAN Network (Community Advocacy Awareness Network). Mary is a lifelong Auroran and she’s been on the front lines of help & change in the city. We touched on many topics over coffee & water and our conversation was very enlightening. Never one to let hardship get in her way, Mary has endured and is an asset to this city. Her nonprofit has assisted and touched many lives in the form of drives, benefits and large events. As a person who has worked with many organizations, Mary has knowledge & a longstanding history here as a community partner. We had some good laughs on the show today as well! • Tuesday | 12/1/2020 | Life. Liberty & The G.A.R. - A Conversation w/ Eric Pry

It was history, history and more history today on the show. We were honored to be joined by a great friend of the show and Aurora favorite, Mr. Eric Pry! Eric is the curator of the G.A.R. (Grand Army of The Republic) Museum located at 23 E. Downer Place and has a knack & love for history. When last we spoke we were eating on the patio at Mora On The River (shouts!) and today we were immersed in knowledge. For many Aurorans, the G.A.R. is “that place that looks like a church”. But oh is it much more than a church! In its walls are generations of Aurora history and the information and memories to match. The pandemic has ceased its activities but this place has provided enjoyment and enlightenment to countless Aurora citizens. Eric is a dedicated man with a passion for Aurora and for highlighting the Aurora military experience. Stay tuned for all the museum has coming in the future, we surely will be as well!

Shouts go out to all City of Aurora staff and also the veterans and veteran family members of Aurora. Huge shouts to the winners of our YouTube contest, Rachel, Shyanne & Susie! Our friend and community partner Chicano came back for a status update and more! This morning was a fun and positive one and we were glad to check in with our brother. When last we saw Chicano he had big plans for Broadway businesses. That was a few months back but he’s certainly been active. In todays’ discussion we spoke about the CRB decision (civilian review board) taken last night by the Aurora City Council. In addition to that we learned about Chicano’s activities at La Gran Plaza and the latino community overall. As we know, cases have been on the rise due to the pandemic. • Tuesday | 11/24/2020 | History & The Harlem Renaissance: Dr. Vincent Gaddis on Good Morning Aurora

It was a festival of learning today on the show! Dr. Vincent Gaddis came to talk with us this morning and we had a great time speaking to this remarkable man. As a professor of history at Benedictine University, Dr. Gaddis has been enlightening young minds for years. From the Harlem renaissance, life in New Jersey to social media, we really went everywhere in our discussion. As we go about our daily lives, special attention has to be given to the information we consume. Not all information is good information. But what is our process of discernment? Are we satisfied with what we hear, or do we seek truth? We must seek truth! Also in this discussion we talked about novels, authors, entertainers and the love of & value of history.

Special thanks go out today to our friends at PLS Solutions and McCarty Mills. Shouts go out to the Final Stretch Media team, Vizo Arts & the Aurora Veterans Advisory Council. Stay tuned to all that weave coming up. So much more to come! Shouts out to Tredwell and the Aurora Historical Society as well. Oh, and shouts out to a dear friend of the show Mr. Eric Pry (curator) of the GAR Building (Grand Army of the Republic). Be strong, blessed and compassionate towards one another. In our conversation we talked about books and knowledge, in addition to the activities for the Black Alliance for Peace.
