This morning it was all about facts, good news & effectively serving the residents of Kane County. We learned about what work has been like overall and during the pandemic. In addition, RISEKIT, the KCSO Job Board and different county initiatives were part of the discussion. With a family background of law enforcement and helping others, Judy has been changing lives for the better for some time. Uplifting others, providing resources & opportunities for one’s betterment; these are the qualities of leaders and the KCSO’s been doing great work. For our Kane County residents, there is a lot of assistance available to everyone, for free. Please access the information distributed by the KCSO, it’s more than law enforcement, it’s empowerment.

  • Tuesday | 11/17/2020 | Bonnie Kunkel (Candidate For Aurora Township Trustee) On Good Morning Aurora

It’s amazing what you can learn on a Tuesday morning. Today we had the pleasure of sitting down with Bonnie Kunkel, running for Aurora Township trustee. As an Aurora native Bonnie shared with us the many aspects of Aurora she grew up with. That in itself was fascinating. There are many intersections in Aurora where once upon a time there were cornfields! Imagine that! The township covers a large area and its boundaries are not very well known to many people. In addition, we learned about what it is that Bonnie wants to bring to the Township. Transparency and fiscal responsibility are just some of her goals as a Trustee. We wish Bonnie the best of luck in her endeavors and be on the lookout for part 2!

Shouts go out to our friends at PLS Solutions, LDJ Cleaning and also the Aurora Rotary Club. Much love to Cotton Seed, The Unruly Artist and Dark Horse Pastries. So much good stuff is going down, and also shouts go out to the Aurora Public Art Commission. Don’t forget the drive-thru parade taking place at Phillips Park this weekend. • Thursday | 11/12/2020 | Jeanette Ward On Good Morning Aurora

The West, Veteran’s Day respect for our family members and American life; that’s what our conversation was about today. And what a conversation it was! We were honored to have Jeanette Ward on the show today for a great morning discussion. Jenette has accomplished so much in her life and she has a great story of perseverance as well. Growing up in PA and then moving to NV, Jeanette is familiar with the experiences of those around her. Recently, Jeanette conceded to her opponent in the recent election for Illinois Senate District number 25. But that’s not the end of it! It was a decision to run for the school board (U-46) that began Jeanette’s interest in politics. She believes that parents should and must be involved in all aspects of their children’s lives. Check out this interview and stay tuned for what the future may hold for Jeanette!

Shouts go out to Tredwell for the help and support for yesterday’s Veteran’s Day special episode. Much appreciated! All veterans, veteran families and service members worldwide; your service is greatly appreciated. Thank you to our friends of the Aurora Public Art Commission & the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic). Don’t forget Cocoa Crawl mugs are available for purchase now in various downtown Aurora shops. Shouts to the Air Classics Museum, Horse Talk, All Spoked Up and OffBeat Thrift. • Wednesday | 11/11/2020 | The Air Classics Museum: Veteran's Day Special Edition

Today is Veterans Day and we had a very special edition of Good Morning Aurora. On the show we were proud to feature the staff of the Air Classics Museum in Sugar Grove, IL. Dedication, history and love of country; that’s what we got today during our conversation with these gentlemen. Lots of Aurorans are familiar with the museum but not many are familiar with the men who run it. Capturing their respective stories was fascinating and we, as a podcast, are proud of these men and what they do. What was Veterans Day in 1930? And what has it been in the decades since? It is the individual experience that we were honored to capture. Not all of our guests today were veterans; but each of them is a patriot. The Air Classics Museum does a lot for our city, county & country. These men exemplify the best of what our country has to offer.

Shouts go out to Tredwell coffee for their wonderful donation of coffee for the show today. Shouts go out to local photographers Joseph Weber, ZA & Bob Lockwood. Thank you for the support, help, advice and kind words of our friends from the American Legion, Support Tech, ACTS (A Call To Shoulders) and the Aurora Public Art Commission. We are grateful to our fans, listeners & supporters. We’ve got more coming, so much more! This was a great episode so be sure to check it out. All the news in Aurora, we’ve got you covered Monday thru Friday. Big shouts go to Gin Ingram Art, Miranda Properties, Cotton Seed Creative Exchange & My Daughter’s Dress. Be blessed and unstoppable and Happy Veteran’s Day!

  • Tuesday | 11/10/2020 | "New Black Youth": A Discussion w/ Esosa Asemota aka SOSA

The youth, the community, the people & coming together; lots of good topics on a Tuesday morning. Today we had the pleasure of speaking with our dear friend Sosa. As an Oswego resident we learned about his community and changes being made. In addition to that, there’s been a lot of things that have remained the same and Sosa has been challenging those. As a clothing designer, he definitely has an eye for fashion. But as a young black man he is keen on social issues in our country. Today we talked about the current state of black youth in America and their prospects. We challenge the assertions of our people in anything other than favorable circumstances and we strive daily for perfection. Sosa is a great young man with a bright future. We wish him the very best; look out for his clothing and more from this man. He’s a friend of the show!

Shouts go out to our friend Vanessa at LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation). This is a wonderful establishment doing a lot to help families. • Monday | 11/9/2020 | The News, The Business & Monday Morning w/ Bob Lockwood

We chopped it up over Dunkin' this morning! Today we spoke with Mr. Bob Lockwood about Aurora Business United, staying ready for opportunity and the business scene. This was Bob's second interview and he gave us updates on the presentations and workshops coming up in the city. Because of the pandemic many venues for business professionals have moved online. The grit & grind of entrepreneurship and success have not however. There are opportunities big and small and healthy partnerships on a local level are the driving force. From authors to those in the trades; Aurora Business United has been a gathering place for them all. Last week Bob did some independent filming and promotion so we got an update on that and what's to come!

Shouts go out to our friends at Vizo Arts & Cotton Seed Creative Exchange for their successful event on 1st Friday. Also don't forget about the hats, coats & gloves drive from CAAN & Marie Wilkinson's Food Pantry. They've been excellent in giving back to our city. It was a day full of raps; raps, raps and more raps. On this episode of Good Morning Aurora we had two local Aurora rappers on the show to showcase their talent. If you like coffee and hip-hop you'll love this episode. It was very cool to hear these two young men put words together with skill and precision. They did two songs for us and promised that they'd come back for another. In the booth is where many ideas come to fruition and this episode was no different. Stay tuned for these two young hustlers!

  • Thursday | 11/5/2020 | Meeting John Laesch (Candidate For Aurora Mayor)

Guess who we spoke to this morning; John Laesch, current candidate for Mayor in Aurora! Over coffee this morning we chopped up life, Aurora and green energy. With so many things going on in the news this was a refreshing conversation to have. With an eye on the climate and plenty of ideas, John has energy and passion. Homelessness, equality and a desire for upward growth is what he is focused on tackling. So often, we forget that the quality of life for others in our city is important to us all. You may have seen John taking part in different rallies, initiatives and marches. He’s been a public servant for quite a while & he’s also a Navy veteran!
