THE SEASON FINALE?! This podcast has been through so much, ya'll- I literally started it the week before we went into our first lockdown in California... March 2020... and the name was 'You Grow, Girl.' My first episode was about how to run your energy in the service industry (still so good and relevant- i recommend scrolling all the way back and taking a listen) and i remember agonizing over the HOW. How will this get done? How will I make sure I say the right thing? How will people react? How well will this podcast do? Etc...

I literally hd a full page of notes and read it almost verbatum. I had no idea that there was a different/easier way to do this. I was just doing what I knew- which was how to work from perfectionism and hustle. I had 3 episodes recorded and when lockdown hit- I didn't have the capacity keep up the perfect charade so I just stopped recording episodes.

Fast forward to September 2020- and I decided to forget all of the bullshit (aka the fancy microphone and notes and stress) and just talk into my phone + upload + call it a damn day. And that's how we have evolved into the Boss Bitch Podcast! A podcast that gets over 40 people listening in every week and then sharing their stories with me- it's SO FUCKING FUN!

Confidence. This is an edgy topic! Every time I get a DM asking me how I'm so confident, i have two very different reactions. My system kind of alerts me like I'm in danger (agh! yikes- someone is mad. shrink!) and i also feel a lot of gratitude- for me, and for this human being so vulnerable and sharing their struggle with me. 

It takes time for sure to build up self-confidence and self-assurance, and it might feel like a lie and like you're playing this character, but it will get easier. And you can start practicing today!

Practice what your boundaries are personally and professionally, write down some affirmations for yourself, and figure out how to show up in a way that feels good so that you're showing up as your authentic self. Cuz the more you're showing up in a way that makes you feel excited and energized, the more it makes showing up so much easier.
