  • Episode 43: Florence
It made a big splash last year, but we show up late to the party that is the compact and elegant visual novel, "Florence". We talk about U-Hauling, Sushi, and T makes an argument for this being a great game to give someone who's new to video games.

Our first encounter with the first volume of Snot Girl had us confused and intrigued, and now we dive into more of this delightfully surreal series with Vol. 2! Listen as we clock the looks, meet some fashionable ghosts, and do our best to figure out exactly what Cool Girl is up to...

  • Episode 40: Batwoman Elegy
This week Al recommends her main girl (and gay icon) Batwoman and it's very good duh. We contemplate the LITERAL wig snatching, dickensian arch villians, and the animorph mob with a dumb name.

  • Episode 39: Super Mario Cart
Hop in our time machine as we head back to the ancient age of 1992, we play the game that launched a million knock offs and a bunch of sequels! This week we play Super Mario Cart on SNES! I know, something that's not  a visual novel or Life is Strange amiright? We talk about accessibility of older games, our personal go cart histories, and the eroding eyesore that is Fun World.

  • Episode 38: Doom Patrol Vol. 1 (Brick by Brick)
This week we read the first volume of Doom Patrol written by Gerard Way and art by Nick Derington. Listen as we process our first readings through this kinetic and cathartic book. We talk about cosmic powers being killed by construction materials, the diverse world living inside of a Gyro, and we wrap our heads around the idea of Danny the Street.

Hard to explain, but a joy to experience. We do our best. lol

  • Episode 36: Daredevil Yellow
This week we read Daredevil Yellow by the incomparable Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale! We talk about the trope of dads refusing to tell their kids about information they clearly should know about, law school bros being bros, and the seemingly infinite amount of plot relevant tech that can fit in a single baton.

  • Episode 35: Kingdom Hearts 2
This week T takes Al on a fantastical, sometimes disorienting journey into the depths of Kingdom Hearts 2's... intro. As Al has a similar experience to many who bounced off the KH series (playing a little of the first game), T thought it would be fun to see how the already dizzying intro of Kingdom Hearts 2 would seem to someone coming back to the series on the "second main title". Luckily T is a giant KH nerd and is there to clear up some questions. We talk about dumb teen boys, evil bags, and many, many leaps of anime-logic.

This episode was inspired by other great Kingdom Hearts podcast such as Kingdom Smarts and Got it Memorized, be sure to check them out!

  • Episode 34: Assassinistas
We are kicking off the new year with Assassinistas by Tini Howard and Gilbert Hernandaz. Why choose between a high stakes assassin-girl-gang story, and an irreverent romp when you can have both? We talk (gush) about strong characters, strong bangs, and the hot new fashion of bullet proof baby carriers.
