There are now more than 20,000 active cases of Covid-19 in the community, and health services are feeling the pressure.

The Government set out a 3 phase response to the more infectious variant, Omicron. We are currently in phase 2.

But some people in the health sector said it was already at capacity and the outbreak wasn't yet a the peak.  

 The College of GP's Medical director Bryan Betty said the move to the next phase needs to happen within the next couple of days.
