How important is the ascension of Christ- As we continue our look at the Apostles' Creed, we come upon a doctrine that doesn't get much traction in Evangelical churches. Yet, it's a key aspect of the gospel we proclaim. Let's consider the importance of this event in redemptive history together.

How important is it that churches confront false teaching- In these verses, we see a command to stop the spread of strange doctrines. This duty falls to Timothy and all church leaders so the local body is teaching the unadulterated Word of God.

We're reviewing the first part of Edward T. Welch's book, -Depression- Looking Up from the Stubborn Darkness- -Greensboro, NC- New Growth Press, 2011-.

While the Lord opens the first four seals of the scroll, John witnesses the ride of four horsemen. We considered the first one last week and the fact that this must refer to a future time. When we look at the remaining three horsemen tonight, we'll note the dire trouble awaiting a world following its own way.

What is God's Word to His church in times of uncertainty- In the Book of First Timothy, we learn key concepts for the operation of His church. Just as Timothy's name means -one who honors God,- we want to glean from this letter how to honor God with the ordering of our church. It starts with just that commitment - to the Word of God, the message Paul proclaimed, the message God uses to bless His people.

Is Reformed Theology entirely incompatible with dispensationalism- In this special midweek session, we briefly note some of the misunderstandings, points of agreement, and points of disagreement between the two systems. We also explain that the position of our church is decidedly Reformed on many points, but also Dispensational in its eschatology.

When Jesus begins opening the seals, the four horsemen of the apocalypse begin to ride. Yet, who is this first horseman- To answer that question, we must first determine if these events are past, present, or future. When we determine that, we can use the rest of Scripture to help us identify this rider atop his white horse.
