Isaiah 65:17-66:24

This week we will study Isaiah 63:1-65:16. The people of God went part of the way with God.  They had gone back to Jerusalem but also had not fully obeyed.  They had quenched the Holy Spirit.

This week I will preach on Isaiah 60-63.  The main focus will be on Isaiah 61:1-2.  These are the words Jesus spoke in a small synagogue in Nazareth.  These words got him in trouble.  We should think much about how Jesus fulfilled/is fulfilling this prophecy.

This week Dennis Stubbs will be preaching on Isaiah 58-59.  Religion is often seen as a series of pious acts taken to gain favor with God.  However, God reminds the Israelites that the actions are little without the heart.  This is also a common theme in the Old Testament.

This week I will cover Isaiah 52:13-55:13. This section of Scripture begins to reveal God’s plan. How is God’s just wrath dealt with? Can humanity bear it? What is the answer?

Isaiah 50-52:12

This week Buddy Jones will preach through Isaiah 48-50. We are given many images of God’s

savior in these passages. He is the Redeemer and Restorer. This passage is Good News.

This week Don will preach through Isaiah 45-47.  God anoints a foreign ruler to be a deliverer for the people of Israel.  Will the people return to God or continue to live in their comfort.  When God calls us to something, He provides the path.

This week Don will preach through Isaiah 43 and 44.  Sometimes I think we forget that our sin is a burden on God.  He loves us deeply, but our rebellion is something He will not tolerate.  There is blessing in obedience.
