    Our Responsibility in Bein Christlike
“Have faith in God. For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will  have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:22-24)

It is clear from these words of Jesus that our responsibility is to have faith, speak, pray and believe. These are things we are clearly responsible to do. If we are not careful we can blame God for not doing anything about our dire situation: find fault when He does not answer our prayers, for letting bad things happen to us, being passive when it comes to our provision and protection. “He didn’t heal my loved one. He didn’t come through for me when my marriage was falling apart. He allowed me to get laid off or didn’t help me keep my business going, and now I can’t pay my bills.” On and on it goes.

God gets blamed for a lot of things. But the truth of the matter is, some things are our responsibility and things happen to us or we don’t get out of a lot of situations because we have not done what God told us to do. We cannot do what only God can do, but God will not do what He has told us to do. If someone remains in a destructive lifestyle, it may be because he will not repent; he’d rather live with his sin that with God. Maybe I have not done what I should have done with my job or business or health or relationship. We cannot blame God for our divorce when we have not loved our spouse the way God says. When relationships deteriorate it is because we have not done our responsibility. Someone is always at fault, but it is never God... to read more click on the following link:

What It Means to be Christlike
When it says “the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch” we always think that means they were sweet loving people like Jesus and so they said, “Let’s call them little Christs; they are good citizens and do no harm to their neighbors.” But if you look at the context of that statement it has very little to do with their character, as important as that is. Jesus certainly was a loving meek Man. But I assure you, if you look in the Bible, that is not the aspect of Jesus that made them think they were Christlike. That would have been true of the first 30 years of His life, but Jesus was much more than that.

Jesus was the powerful Son of Man who worked miracles: cleansed lepers, healed the blind and lame, and raised the dead. His love did more than make Him good; it made Him powerful. Sure He went about doing good, but He was also anointed by God to heal all who were oppressed by the devil. How could He do that? Because God was with Him (Acts 10:38), not because He was God. Jesus of Nazareth didn’t do His mighty works as the divine Son of God. He lived His miraculous life and did His mighty deeds as a man full of the Holy Spirit. He always called Himself the Son of Man, meaning He was fully man and He lived as a man... to read more click the following link... http://www.gracehouseclinton.com/2020/04/what-it-means-to-be-christlike

What it Means to be a Christian

“And the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.”  (Acts 11:26)

Ideas of what it means to be a Christian range from the extremely limited to the exceedingly and ridiculously broad. Some people have such narrow-minded views that heaven must necessarily be a scarcely populated place. One denomination believes that you must be baptized in water in Jesus’ name only, speak in tongues, wear certain kinds of clothing, tithe and do good works the rest of your life. Oh, and use the King James Version of the Bible. Still others are so broad in their interpretation of what it means to be a Christian that it basically comes down to just do the best you can. (Nobody ever does the best he can.) Just be a good person and you are a Christian. This is patently absurd and is counter to everything in the Bible. Yet multitudes believe this. Some may even add water baptism or other rituals that allow a person to live in sin and never repent and still be a Christian and make it to heaven when they die.
But God is not that narrow-minded or open-minded. Truth is never open-minded. We must look at the Bible to see what it means to be a Christian; not at what others say, or how we feel about it. God wrote a book and in that book He tells us who they are who are right with Him and who are not. We must go by the Bible or we have no source of authority for what we believe. God would never want something so important as this to be left up to our own ideas or the opinions of others. It is He who wrote, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you might know that you have eternal life…” (1John5:13)  God wants us to know and that knowledge is found only in the Holy Bible. So, we will use the Bible as our inspired source to determine what it means to be a Christian... to read more click on the following link...  http://www.gracehouseclinton.com/2020/04/what-it-means-to-be-a-christian

The Sufferings of Christ and the Glory that Followed
    1 Peter 1:11

I want us to examine the sufferings of our dear Savior, but not as one examines a rose so as to take away the beauty of it. In close inspection of the pains and sorrows of the Lamb of God we will find beauty unequaled.

    I.  His Sufferings were PURPOSEFUL
All His sufferings were unjust. Pilate passed the verdict when he said, “I find no fault in this man.” Yet He still suffered. He had gone about doing good, healing all who were oppressed.  What did He do to deserve such torment? He healed the sick, fed the hungry, taught the word of God, glorified God by everything He said and did. He never sinned once. But still He was brutally arrested, unjustly tried, convicted and endured the most excruciating pain of any human being ever. Why?  What was the purpose of His sufferings? He was suffering for you, and me. We were guilty. We have broken the law of God and become criminals in God’s holy courtroom, condemned to die. That whip was our whip. Those stripes upon His blessed back were stripes that should have been on our sinful backs. Those nails were our nails. He went through hell on that cross because of us and for us. That was the purpose of His sufferings. He suffered the punishment for our sins.... to read more click on the following link:

(To God and It should be to Us)    Ephesians 5:22-32I know people will argue with the premise of this lesson, but I have read the Bible and gotten God’s perspective on what is important and it is the church of Jesus Christ. The way God sees things is reality. The church of Laodicea saw themselves as rich and increased in goods; but God tells them the truth, “You are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked.” (Revelation 3:17) “But I thought my family was the most important thing on earth?”  You think your family is more important than God’s family?  The church is God’s family, the household of God, His own dear children, the only ones whom He calls His beloved and will be with Him forever in heaven. That is the church and that’s why it is important to God and should be to us, and will be if we see things the way God sees things. Read Jesus’ perspective on this: “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:26) Of course, the Lord doesn’t want us to literally hate anybody. But His words are powerful and they at least mean that God’s family is more important than ours. Jesus is the only mediator between us and God, and He is also the only mediator between us and all others. If anyone comes between us and Him that cannot be. God never intended for there to be a competition between our family and His. What we want is our family to be in His family... http://www.gracehouseclinton.com/2020/04/why-the-church-is-the-most-important-thing-on-earth

    Jehoshaphat: the Power of Praise

Praise is not powerful. We need to be careful substituting something we do for God. People say that prayer changes things. No, God answers prayer and so He uses prayer to change things. Prayer is not an entity in itself that accomplishes things. God uses prayer. It’s the same with praise. Praise is powerless, but it is a weapon and tool God uses in a powerful way in our lives. Praise is not powerful; God is powerful. We don’t simply go through the mechanics of singing praise words and then expect God to do for us what He did for Judah when the three enemy armies came against them. We must do what they did: they came to God, prayed, heard from God, marched into battle with praise, and God delivered them. God is powerful, but He uses praise in a powerful way. That’s why I say that praise is powerful, because God uses it in a powerful way.
There is such a thing as an evil day, as stated in Ephesians 6:10-18. Living in a sinful fallen world every day has its share of evil; but some days are especially bad in that we are attacked in unusual ways. When the enemy attacks with a frontal assault, that is the evil day. For this we need the armor of God in order to remain strong and stand against his evil assaults. He is always lurking about, seeking strategies and wiles to get the advantage over us, and when he does he will attack at our most vulnerable times and areas. It is interesting that Ephesians may be easily outlined with these words: Our Wealth, Our Walk, and Our Warfare, each in the proper order. We are wealthy beyond measure because we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Eph.1-3). We have a walk of peace, unity and power (Eph.4-5). But neither of those exempt us from the attacks of the principalities and powers of darkness. In fact, they are the very reason they assault us: we are so wealthy and living in peace, and they simply cannot have that because it so glorifies God...
