Romans 15:13-16

Saul failed to obey the direct order of Yahweh when commanded to destroy the Amalekites and all they had. As a result, God rejects Saul as Israel’s king.

Scripture Passage: 1 Samuel 14:24-46

Saul manages to turn the deliverance provided by God into a time of distress for the people of Israel. We manage to do the same thing when our eyes are focused on the kingdom we’re building for ourselves, rather than the kingdom God is building.

We live in a world that has seen its share of curses over the past couple of years. It’s tempting to just throw up our hands and give up, especially at Christmas time when we hear the song, “Joy to the World”. Can we really sing that song, after all the pain, suffering, and disappointment we see around us? If you’re a Christian, you better believe you can!
