Setting boundaries isn’t always comfortable because there is fear that people may push you back. People will always try to test your limits, to see how serious you are about drawing the line. Be patient with yourself if you have trouble setting boundaries because setting boundaries takes practice.
In those moments of doubt, we could all use a little reassurance that we’re making the right call when we choose to set up boundaries. We need to always choose what is best for us - that is self love. We need to fill our love tank first before we are able to give. Saying ‘no’ is not selfish.

Engaging leadership is about seeking meaningful contributions and more than just a job title. We are now living in a time where there is a big shift in leadership methodology, from ME to WE - beyond achievements to service and beyond ambition to inspiration.
When employees perceive the existence of an engaging leader, they become inclined to engage, as well, and follow the lead. Businesses and their leaders should invest, not on the kind of investment that involves money, but on time and effort, which will reap the benefits of greater loyalty, engagement, and commitment from their employees. Businesses will ultimately benefit more when this is achieved.

Do you believe that there are really inherently lazy people? People are not biologically wired to do as little as possible, but yes there is a small fraction of people who are really lazy. Laziness, though, is not a personality flaw but forced out of habit. People don’t actively participate in work because they are demotivated or some other reasons. In addition, there are also many management flaws that need to be addressed, so that laziness, disengagement, and disconnection among team members won't progress.
However, there may be situations where no matter what you do, you can’t motivate an employee to get the job done. That being said and as always, when dealing with people, using a human approach is still the best way to address this impediment to productivity in the workplace.

Have you participated in a team-building activity organized by your employer? That is a wonderful experience, isn’t it? It has likely provided you with valuable takeaways that have helped you in performing your job better. Not only that, you are able to build on trust in order to collaborate better with your colleagues in the company.
For employees, this is one way of gauging that the company is also focused on their welfare. Having an annual team building is not a one-way street benefitting only the employers, but it also benefits the employees. Team building activities can help employees function as one team with one common goal. If you are an entrepreneur and you haven’t done one, it is highly recommended to facilitate one. The importance of team building cannot be overstated if you want your employees and your business to succeed.

It is a misnomer to confuse busy and productive, which are two different words with different meanings, but some mistakenly believe they are one and the same. You can be busy but not productive and you can be productive without being busy.
In this episode of Grace, Grit & Glow, host and 'Beautypreneur' Nikki Tang delves into the difference between being busy and being productive. In the workforce, the word “busy” is often used by some to justify not being able to handle or accept new tasks. On the other hand, when someone is productive, he or she may not appear to be busy but still doing their work because they have systems in place in order to work efficiently. The ability to be productive rather than busy will help you in the long run and even promote self-care.

To seek perfection is good, but we have to accept the fact that there are limitations to being human. People who seek to be perfect usually come from a place of FEAR of judgment and disapproval from others. Perfectionism can impact many areas of a person’s life and it can affect someone in the workplace, at home, in relationships, in careers, etc. As perfectionism is self-imposed, you are the only one who can play a major role in recovering from its negative effects. The first and most important step is to render self-compassion to yourself.

Do you sometimes find it hard to make a choice buying something when at a grocery store, that you end up not buying at all? Sometimes we hold off doing something or acting on something because we want to make the right choice. This kind of indecision is called “decision paralysis” and often it plays an important factor in why people procrastinate.
The saying “Do not put off for tomorrow what you can do today” does make a lot of sense and can be our battle cry against procrastination. In this episode, Nikki shares another goldmine to overcome procrastination in order to avoid regrets in life.
