Title: The Classic Tale of Peter Rabbit

Subtitle: Works of Beatrix Potter

Author: Beatrix Potter

Narrator: Barbara Best

Format: Unabridged

Length: 6 mins

Language: English

Release date: 12-01-17

Publisher: Brain Lint Productions

Genres: Kids, Ages 5-7

Publisher's Summary:

From beloved author Beatrix Potter - the tale of that adorable but naughty bunny, Peter Rabbit.

According to a study at Washington University in St. Louis, listening to speech that is accented is more difficult for the brain to process than listening to your native speech. For people with hearing loss, it can be even harder, researchers say.

For this reason, Brain Lint Productions is beginning a series called NAA (North American Accent). NAA will take classic British books and make them into audiobooks with a standard North American accent.

The first in this series is beloved children's classic Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.

TERRIBLE print quality for a great story.

This review is about the quality of this printed copy - not the Tale of Peter Rabbit. This was an absolutely terrible quality print job. It was more like a pamphlet than a book. I could have printed a better copy from my cheap deskjet printer at home. See attached images. First, the print is not centered on any page - the text and images are almost falling off the bottom. Second, the quality of images is absolutely terrible - it looks like 50 dpi or worse and is extremely fuzzy. Third, the pages are glued in AND they are crooked (see image). Finally, because the pages are glued together you can't open any of the pages completely and the "pamphlet" will not lay flat.

Good for adults and older children

Absolutely adorable! I had this exact coloring book when I was a child and had to have it again! This coloring book is perfect for adults and older children, as some of the pages are more detailed. It is also a story book, with the story printed on the bottom of each page. With a good price like this, it's worth it!

The illustrations are of course beautiful; but the abridgement of the story in this ...

The illustrations are of course beautiful; but the abridgement of the story in this book is rough and doesn't flow well; it loses a lot of the literary charm from the original.

My Daughter Enjoys It

Of course, this is a classic story, so reviewing it seems a bit presumptuous to me. I'll just share my (almost) three-year-old daughter's reaction. We have this one and several other Beatrix Potter mini-books. Her favorite Beatrix Potter book is Mrs. Tittlemouse, but she enjoys Peter Rabbit too. She likes these little books because they are easy for her to hold. The books and illustrations are lovely, and I've ordered the entire set for her for her birthday. I enjoyed them as a child and a friend of mine pointed out that Beatrix Potter's books have a more extensive vocabulary than what you find in many children's books today. We both see this as a good thing as we like to set a high bar for our kids and believe they will rise to it. I definitely recommend Peter Rabbit and the entire Beatrix Potter series. My daughter enjoyed hearing these stories beginning at age two and I enjoy reading them myself, so I think they have a wide appeal and are suitable for many ages.

DO NOT BUY!!!

Amazon should be a shamed in selling this book! It's not the story that is bad it's this book...

A charming and beautifully illustrated read

Little Mouse Finds a Friend is a charming book that would make an ideal read aloud for young children, and a wonderful shared or guided reading for those who are progressing through learning to read on their own.

The book is charming, has positive content to share, and even includes some instructive material about nature, which was a nice surprise. I would gladly add this book to my own classroom. Jessica Linn Evans's artwork brings the story to life vividly and beautifully.

Highly recommended.

add a great family flavor

This is a real boy book. Little Mouse reminds me of our son at 10. The lovable, but definitely girly little sisters, add a great family flavor. Dr. Volle, must be an entomologist and brings higher education to the story line. The illustrations are so full of detail that parents who spend hours reading to their children will find something new each time they open the book. This would be a great addition to any classroom library since the illustrations are scientifically accurate, while Little Mouse's imagination makes them come to life.

Sweet story. Kids wonât know theyâre learning

Sweet story. Kids wonât know theyâre learning!

Arresting illustrations. Must have in you childrenâs library.

Five Stars

Short but sweet audiobook!

Danae Wyatt has done a brilliant job recording the audio for Jupiter James. Fun, cheery and with a very good pace. Can't wait to share it with my little brothers and sister who came up with the original stories!

Loved it! Wonderful book

Loved it! Wonderful book.

I love this book for the wonderful lesson about giving it ...

As an Elementary School Librarian, I love this book for the wonderful lesson about giving it teaches our young readers. The story is cleverly disguised in the "flower" characters but every child will understand the message. The illustrations are beautifully done to capture young readers' attention. Mr. Saunders has created a classic book that shares the important message of giving. I love that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to a charity.
