  • "Evil Dead Burn," "The Invite," "Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass"

We've got three new movies this week, and they're very different. First, it's the horror anthology segment "Evil Dead Burn." Then it's Olivia Wilde's A24 sex comedy "The Invite," with Seth Rogen, Edward Norton and Penelope Cruz. And then an actual sex comedy about having sex with Jon Hamm, "Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass."

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • The Best Movies of the First Half of 2026

It's our annual show, every July 4th, when we look back at the best movies of the first half of the year. Grierson gives his six best, and Leitch does as well. And enjoy America's 250th birthday, we guess!

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • "Supergirl," "Jackass: Last and Best," What the Success of "Obsession" and "Backrooms" Means

There's a new DC movie out, from the James Gunn stable, it's "Supergirl." Also, there's a very very very different movie out, the final (probably) Jackass movie, "Jackass: Best and Last."

But the real discussion is a long overdue one: We dig into, deeply, the success of "Obsession" and "Backrooms," which is about age and moviegoing changes and what makes people fall in love with the movies in the first place. This was a very, very fun talk. We hope you enjoy it.

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • "Toy Story 5," "The Death of Robin Hood," "The Last Temptation of Christ"

They made another "Toy Story!" Can "Toy Story 5" live up to the legacy? Meanwhile, the guy who directed "Pig" made a movie called "The Death of Robin Hood" with Hugh Jackman. And we have a Reboot too: It's Martin Scorsese's infamous "The Last Temptation of Christ."

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • "Disclosure Day," "Dazed and Confused"

Not much bigger than a new Steven Spielberg movie. Tim and Will dig into "Disclosure Day." It's our only new movie this week. Then, in our Reboot segment, we go back to 1994 and look at Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused."

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • "Scary Movie," "Masters of the Universe," "Power Ballad'"

Three new movies this week, all comedies, kind of. First it's the Wayans Brothers' return to the "Scary Movie" franchise. Then it's the long-gestating "Masters of the Universe" movie. And we close with John Carney's "Power Ballad" with Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. And Go Knicks.

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • "Backrooms," "The Breadwinner," "Exotica"

The new A24 horror film is "Backrooms," and it's a huge hit AND made by a 20-year-old. Is it good? We discuss. We also dig into Nate Bargatze's feature debut "The Breadwinner." Then, in our Reboot segment, we talk about Atom Egoyan's 1994 hit "Exotica."

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • 2026 Cannes Wrapup, "The Mandalorian and Grogu," "I Love Boosters"

Grierson is back from Cannes, even if his bags aren't. He wraps up Cannes 2026 for us, and then we discuss the first Star Wars movie in seven years, "The Mandalorian and Grogu." And then we talk about Boots Riley's "I Love Boosters."

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.

  • "Is God Is," "Obsession," Grierson Reports From Cannes

Grierson is still in Cannes, and he briefly joins us for a report, but there were two sort of high-profile movies that Leitch wanted to weigh in on, so here we are. Leitch solos on the adaptation of "Is God Is," as well as the horror hit "Obsession." It's never quite the same when it's just one of us, but at least the show is shorter! Grierson will be back next week for a normal (and long) show.

Thanks to Dylan Mayer and My Friend Mary, both of which are wonderful, for the music. We hope you enjoy.
