Although it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the scale of the world's problems, even the smallest gestures can create a ripple effect that contributes to a better world both today, and in the future.
And inside of today's episode I want to open your mind to some ideas in which you can begin to adopt this mindset... That the big changes in the world start with just one person helping another person.
Key Points:
Volunteering at local schools is a simple way to make a positive impact. By dedicating a few hours a week, you can help students learn and grow, while also providing support to teachers and staff. This can help you gain a sense of purpose and fulfillment, and also create a positive impact on the children you help.
Another way to make a positive impact is by helping your neighbors. Whether it's shoveling their driveway, mowing their lawn, or simply checking in on them, small acts of kindness can go a long way. This creates a sense of community and belonging, while also fostering empathy and understanding.
There are countless ways to make a positive impact in the world through acts of kindness and generosity. Whether it's volunteering at a local shelter, donating to a charity, or simply spreading kindness wherever you go, every little bit counts. By finding a cause or community that you care about and taking action in small ways, you can create a meaningful difference in the world.

One mother's "simple" wish, to take her family hiking would lead to so much more...
"We may never know how the events of today will impact our lives of tomorrow, but isn't that the beautiful thing about life."
Today's episode was made possible in part by the incredible Marjorie Turner Hollman who was featured inside of Episode 133. Marjorie introduced me to today's guest, Lisa Lewis. And the rest is history!
Lisa Louis created HikingAutism.com, a guide for the millions of families like hers with an autistic family member to experience the joy of nature. HikingAutism features more than 170 hikes accompanied by 1,900 stunning nature photos. The outings range from five-mile hikes on Mt. Tam in Marin County to rambles through the streets of San Francisco. The therapeutic power of nature is an undercurrent of Lisa’s weekly Insights blog. Her love of the outdoors stems from a childhood wandering the Adirondack Foothills. Today, she and her family lead other special needs families on hikes in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Are you fighting for something bigger than yourself? It's a question we should all be asking ourselves. And that's because fighting for a cause gives us purpose and meaning, it empowers us to make a positive impact on the world, and it builds relationships and creates a sense of community that can be felt for generations.
Today's episode was inspired by the guest inside episode 161, Brian Slade, who has dedicated his entire career to fighting for a cause bigger than himself. Originally, this was fighting for his country as a helicopter pilot in the US military, and now it is fighting for people suffering from PTSD through his book, Cleared Hot.
Inside of today's episode, host Kevin Lowe encourages you to think about your own life and what cause you are fighting for. He believes that everyone should be fighting for something bigger than themselves and explains why this is so important. He also provides actionable items that the listener can implement right away to help them find their own cause worth fighting for!

Feeling stuck, starting over, or searching for purpose after life didn't go the way you hoped? If so, welcome home. Grit, Grace, & Inspiration is a personal growth podcast about finding hope,…
At 17, Kevin Lowe became completely blind after life-saving brain surgery. Today he's a keynote speaker and the founder of Lowe Down Media Design Studio, where he helps people and businesses share their stories through websites, apps, and custom songs. As host of nearly 500 episodes, he brings that same passion for story to honest interviews and encouraging solo conversations. His guests have faced grief, paralysis, cancer, trauma, and total reinvention, and they share not just how they survived it, but what actually helped them rebuild, from the people who showed up to the faith that carried them through. Kevin's solo episodes turn those lessons into practical mindset shifts you can use this week.
You'll hear real stories about overcoming adversity, healing from trauma and loss, building confidence and self-worth, letting go of what you can't control, and finding the next step toward a life you're excited to live. Expect warmth, humor, and honest conversation, never empty hype.
Whether you're in a difficult season, chasing a dream, or wondering what your next chapter could look like, you're welcome here. New episodes every Tuesday morning. Follow the show, and share an episode with someone who could use a little extra encouragement.
Keep the conversation going at GritGraceInspiration.com, book Kevin to speak at KevinSpeaks.org, and bring your own story to life at LoweDownMedia.com. So pull up a seat, bring your story, and let's find the grit, the grace, and the inspiration to take your next step together.
