In the latest episode of Film Stories with Simon Brew, Simon looks at a pair of comedies from the 1990s, one of which is more fondly remembered than the other.

Groundhog Day (1993) is one of the best comedies of the decade, but also, there were two offers to make the film, and one of them would have taken it down a much darker path.

As for Police Academy: Mission To Moscow (1994)? The final movie (to date) in that saga barely covered the cast and crew's air fares with its box office takings. But it proved to be a production fraught with real danger.
