Why talking to the right people scares the crap out of you
My grandfather and my uncle were both incredibly wealthy, successful guys. But complete jerks and they didn't like the grassroots, blue-collar lifestyle that I was raised in.
They were cold and standoffish and I didn’t interact with them very frequently, so I was always intimidated by them growing up.
So, because that was all that I knew, my idea of being successful meant that you were an old man who wore a suit to the office and worked in a skyscraper.
And you were also a giant jerk.
In the sales game, sometimes making the right connections needed to close a deal means interacting with assholes (or people you perceive to be assholes) every once in a while.
So why does meeting with these people scare the crap out of you?
