However, it gets out of hand when he and Ilene celebrate their 15 month anniversary as women crawl out of the woodwork to give him their number. Ilene gets pissed at Al’s flagrant behavior, and storms off, leaving Tim to be the one to talk sense into Al.

    When a local magazine names Al Detroit’s ninth most eligible bachelor, he is suddenly mobbed by beautiful women vying for his attention. As Al comes to enjoy and encourage all this newfound female attention, Ilene gets angry and tries to leave him. When Tim points out that the article suggested Al’s salary was substantially higher than it actually is, Al realizes that the love of Ilene is far more important than the fleeting attention of these basic cable groupies. Meanwhile, Mark tries to write a paper about the most interesting person he knows - Wilson - but eventually realizes that he’d rather be writing about Tim.

  • Super Bowl Fever
    Tim’s (Tim Allen) plans for a big rowdy Super Bowl party are thrown for a loop when Jill (Patricia Richardson) comes down with the flu and begs him not to have his friends over. Tim, who wasn’t paying attention during the “in sickness and in health” portion of his wedding vows, tries to have it both ways – coaching the guys to watch the game quietly downstairs while half-assedly caring for Jill upstairs. When Jill finally loses her patience, Wilson (Earl Hindman) helps Tim realize that he needs to be more nurturing, and he attempts to make things right by brewing Jill some of Wilson’s special anti-nausea bee tea.

Back home, Brad is furious when he hears that Tim sold the car that he’s put so much time and work into, so the family travels to the pizza millionaire’s garage to try and buy it back. But when they get there, they ultimately decide to buy a run down old junker off his lot instead so they can have a new project to fix up.

  • Brother, Can You Spare a Hot Rod?
    After his first appearance at a hot rod show with his newly built 1934 Ford Roadster, the owner of a Pizzaria chain and car collector makes him an offer that he can’t refuse. Without secon guessing the decision, Tim brings home the check, but is met with anger and dismay from his family.
    Realizing that he didn’t think things through, particularly how selling the car would affect Brad, Tim contacts the pizza man, and begs for his car back.

  • The Route of All Evil
    When Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan) has the opportunity to take on a paper route, Jill (Patricia Richardson) is worried that he’s taking on too many responsibilities – but Tim (Tim Allen) is excited for his son to take a step into the professional world. Before long, Brad is worn down and exhausted by school, sports, band and his route – but with Tim pressuring him to stick with the paper route, he opts to cope by hiring Mark and Randy (Taran Noah Smith and Jonathan Taylor Thomas) to do his homework and clean his room. When Tim figures out what’s going on, Wilson (Earl Hindman) helps him to realize that he doesn’t need to push Brad so hard to succeed, and he gives Brad permission to quit the paper route to focus on school. Meanwhile, Jill is busy studying for a psychology exam, so Marie starts cooking dinner for the family – much to Tim and the boys’ delight.
