  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #354 - Daughters of Frank
Sisters Ruby and Lily London are a DJ and producer duo known as Daughters of Frank. Behind the decks, the duo will serenade you with the most romantic cuts picked from their expansive genre-spanning catalogue to their own high-energy shimmering productions. They bring magical energy to every set packing a mixed bag of electronic, R&B, groove, Latin, jazz, house, garage, breaks and a touch of jungle with soulful and sultry tones. The girls have shared their emotive mix of sounds across various radio stations which includes holding a drive time slot on Peckham's Balamii for over 2 years, and are now hosting a weekly breakfast residency on Rinse FM. The pair also run their club night ‘Club Serenade’ which encapsulates their taste in dance music.
"A showcase of what Club Serenade sounds like at peak club hour.
At Serenade, we play a mixture of genres with a sultry, soulful and deep tone - expect broken beat, house, electronic, bass, breaks & techno - it's a certified Sloth Boogie mix. Having the same taste, we often come with the same tunes for sets so there's a couple tracks in there we both love playing out atm, and a debut of Ruby's new tune - Respect Fats.
Catch us playing at Fabric's 23rd Birthday on October 14th, or tune in to our weekly Rinse FM show on Wednesday mornings 7-8am for more music!"

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #353 - Steve Mill
"I made this mix on a beautiful warm afternoon in September, Thessaloniki is still warm this time of the year, so the vibes are following to the warmth of the weather :) Some newer and some older Deep House gems, a little jazzy, some vocal chops here and there, and a lot of positivity. I hope you enjoy!"
Stepping into the SB guestmix hot seat this week we have former Madhouse (Kerri Chandler's label obvs) label boss, Steve Mill. He knows a thing or two about h.o.u.s.e and that's very apparent on his forthcoming release on Dirt Crew. A lush and diverse 5 track EP with a magic remix from SB fav Lorenz Rhode, keep your eyes peeled for release in mid-October.

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #352 - Eddie C
"Some brand new up-tempo dance music from me and my friends from around the globe! Recorded on the road near Crieff, Scotland"
Raised in Southern Ontario somewhere between Detroit and Montreal, Eddie C began his experiments in music sometime in the late 80s. Inspired first by Hip Hop and the burgeoning Acid House scene, he began making tape edits of late night radio and shortly thereafter began visiting record shops and warehouse parties to discover the music first-hand. Record collecting has since been a way of life for the man, followed closely by an opposing passion for skiing which lead him to his 10-year sabbatical in the Rocky Mountains of Canada. With plenty of time over the past decade for reflection and research in his log cabin studio, C has recently relocated.

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #351 - Lolu Menayed
"In this mix are the sounds that most provoke me to play when making an eclectic and soulful set.
Some old tracks and some new ones but with a significant presence of techno and house vibes.
I love being able to mix artists that don't have similar sounds but that can be combined to perfection and that in the end, instead of many tracks, it just seems like a whole."
From an early age, Lolu has had influence and a relationship with House. Her beginnings in electronic music were around the age of 17 when she decided to make the hobby her profession. An Argentinian DJ, producer, and co-owner of the DIGHOP RECORDS Vinyl label and PHILU Music, an independent digital label, she has left her mark on the best clubs.
With great distinction for her character and musical personality, she has managed to occupy an important place in the electronic scene in South America in recent years. As her stock continues to rise, we are pleased to hear Lolu is set to move to Europe later in the year, bringing her closer to a booth near you x

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #350 - Seamus Haji
"The mix starts off on the disco side of what I play and moves into house territory. It’s a selection of tracks I’m really feeling and playing and includes some of my recent productions. There are also a couple of exclusives forthcoming on some of the labels I look after such as Big Love, Glitterbox and Faith here at Defected HQ. Hope you enjoy!"
Seamus Haji’s experience is all part of the mix. He has been involved in nearly all aspects of the Music Business from working in London’s most influential dance music record shops for 10 years to A&R’ing for Slip’n’Slide Records, Defected Records and Strictly Rhythm to interviewing and reviewing for seminal Dance Music publications such as Muzik Magazine, DMC Update, DJ Mag, Touch and Echoes and of course, de rigueur stints on pirate radio Girls FM being the main on in the 90’s. Since 2002 he has also been at the helm of his own much-respected house music label, Big Love (also including sister imprints Big Love Trax and Soul Love) for which he has either A&R’d, produced, remixed (or all three) nearly 400 hundred singles and mixed over 20 compilations. The man's knowledge knows no bounds, and he exemplifies that here for us in the mix.

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #349 - Harry Romero
“Here’s a solid hour or so of some upfront music that has been rocking for me this very busy summer. A couple of unreleased gems in there so please enjoy!”
In the beginning, jack had a groove. And thanks to heavyweight house heroes like Harry Romero, that groove is now back. “My love of house came from the culture,” explains Jersey’s finest from his studio headquarters in The Butchashop. Harry, in case you missed the musical memo, is a humble house music legend with classic club cuts like ‘Tania’, ‘Night @ The Black’ and ‘I Go Back’ with Robert Owens under his belt, but really that’s just the tip of the iceberg as his current catalogue will attest.
So what’s his ethos now? Simple! To wave his own flag. “I know what I’m capable of in the studio and behind the decks. Harry 2.0, this is my renaissance! “ He’s had a career that now runs across two decades but also recognizes that “this is a rebirth, not a remix.” It’s also about reaching a new generation with a catalogue that speaks for itself. With many charting successes from his recent releases on Classic, Hot Creations and even a global dancefloor hit on his own label Bambossa for his collaboration track with friend and fellow house legend Louie Vega. His ethos as both a DJ and producer continue to tell the same story, and it’s all about top-quality music.

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #346 - Byron The Aquarius
When Byron The Aquarius talks about live frequencies, his enthusiasm is infectious. A keys player by trade, Byron’s love for melody and harmony has consistently drawn the attention of electronic music’s leading labels and producers.
In 2015, Byron released a ten track solo album on BBE entitled “Planets of Love.” When he wasn’t working on his own music, he was playing keys in the studio with Kai Alce. These creations got into the hands of Theo Parrish, who loved the sound of his sublime jazz-infected house and picked two tracks to release on his legendary Sound Signature label in 2016. The resulting “Highlife EP” has been hailed as “stunning”, “intoxicating” and “essential.”
Fast forward to 2022 and he's launching his own label, as explained...
“I made this mix to celebrate the launch of my new label Talknoi$e. I’m kicking off the first release with ‘Shroomz, Guns and Roses’, inspired by the time I spent in lockdown reconnecting with myself through nature. It’s out now. Check it out in the mix..”

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #345 - The Disco Express
We're joined this week by Bustin' Loose who showcases some of the finest, and yet to be released, material from his label, The Disco Express. Interspersed with a few choice slabs that are tapping his toes, Tom takes us aboard his runaway 4/4 train for a satisfying disco workout.
Regarded as one of London's "leading disco labels", The Disco Express first began as a series of loft parties in March 2017, playing host to a slew of top acts... ourselves included. Drawing inspiration from the energy of 70's New York, their parties are fun, inclusive, and provide a platform (geddit?) for the good times to take you deep into the night.
Evolving into a full-fledged record label in 2020, The Disco Express is now of the most reliable sources for hi-nrg, soulful, dance music.
