GUEST MIX SERIES

This week we have friend of the label, all round top guy and the guy that hooked us up many a tasty premiere. It's Jonna the label owner of City Fly & Mysterious Works. He's produced exquisite music on BBE, Flat White Records, Intimate Friends, Lumberjacks in Hell, R2, Shadeleaf, The Groove Stage.

He's about to drop one of his most ambitious projects to date; 'City Fly's 'Fly Family Vol.1' dropping exclusively on Traxsource on 17/02/20 & everywhere else from 02/03/20. The album is drenched in deep, soul flecked bombs ranging from the jazzy hip-hop intro of Cologne's Ugly Drums who teams up with Detroit MC :brownstudy to the heads down, no nonsense 'Warehouse Shit' from Simbad. The project brings together familiar faces that have previously released on the label like Kez YM and Lay-Far alongside some of their favourite new producers like Javonntte, Felipe Gordon & NY*AK (who will be releasing a full artist EP shortly after) who join the Fly Family!

We've already premiered a couple of tracks off this LP in our radio shows it's that good. City Fly will be hosting a launch party for the album @ Shoreditch Platform in London on Sat 28th March / 9pm - 2am

We then had the pleasure of partying the day away at the famous Wintergarten in Berlin's best outdoor club, Sisyphos. So after a few beers, it felt only natural to invite him to unfurl 62min of quality music for your ears this Friday. Keep it locked.

The artist formerly known as Loz Goddard has trimmed his name to just Goddard and with this new slimline profile comes a fresh new release in the shape of his 'Signals' EP, which is out now on top label Apparel Music. With ace releases already bagged on labels like Church and Tusk Wax, we're pretty confident you'll already be up to speed on how good Goddard's music is.

The busy man also presents a monthly radio show on Reform Radio which luck would have it goes out this Saturday (17th) 9pm - 11pm with guests Makez.

But for now, it's Friday and its time to get stuck into this week's musical sacrifice to the weekend gods. Enjoy!

We're entering a new decade on an absolutely stomping high thanks to one of our favourite producers... @shansound!

Having released on some of our most cherished labels like Running Back, Beats in Space, Permanent Vacation, The Healing Company, Midland's Regraded and Footjob he's been on our hit list for a while now. We absolutely love his high energy Disco and pumping old school House influences and you'll hear plenty of these vibes in a very special mix he's recorded for us at his home studio just outside Frankfurt.

Strap yourselves in because this one aint for the faint hearted!

Welcome to the SlothBoogie Guestmix hotseat, Peak & Swift...

The duo were seen ducking in and out of the shadows of Berlin's most infamous clubs, before they finally found their home in the mysterious, Salon - Zur wilden Renate. Today, Peak helms the responsibilities of head booker while The Swift takes care of the one-of-a-kind flyer art and bookings of his own, while the pair simultaneously bang out hot tracks every weekend as residents.

Together they have helped Renate grow from a club in its infancy to the world-renowned underground mecca it has become today, boasting incredible house, techno and disco lineups on a weekly basis, not to mention a series of open-air events and many wild themed parties throughout the year. For those of you who don't know Peak and Swift yet, it might be best for you to hop a plane to Berlin and catch them in their element in Zur wilden Renate, you will surely not be disappointed. Also, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for releases from the label they recently formed, Renate Schallplatten!

Danny Berman aka Red Rack’em went from being a seasoned underground veteran to one of the best known artists on the scene in 2016 with his cross genre smash ‘Wonky Bassline Disco Banger’ picking up plays and support from just about everyone including Moodymann, Black Madonna and even Elton John. It also went onto score the remarkable double of being the biggest selling vinyl single of the year at Juno AND being awarded record of the year at Phonica.

As the Radio 1 mixes and remix requests reached fever pitch, Danny rolled his sleeves up and got stuck in. Business as usual really, as for the last 10 years he’s been steadily releasing underground smashers on Ramp, Wolf, Philomena/Innervisions, Bergerac, Sonar Kollektiv and remixing artists such as Tricky, Jazzanova, Tensnake, Jah Wobble and Tinie Tempah for Universal, Domino and Parlophone.

Tune in to 90min of vinyl cuts Danny has amassed over the years, and welcome, everyone... to the weekend.

Remember all of our radio shows and guest mixes are available on Soundcloud, Spotify, and iTunes... so you can stream and download on the move.

The Coastal Haze/Childs Play regulars Manuel Darquart are in the house this week and they've bought their finest selection of aural foliage with them. Hosting their own standout show 'Adventures in Paradise' on Netil Radio here in London and knowing their way around a synth or two these guys pump out the jams thats for sure. We've also got it under good authority that they have some new material on their way so keep those peepers peeled!

We first became aware of the wonderful upcoming talent of Philippa when we premiered her track 'I Deserve A Break Today' which released on At Peace earlier this year. Such was the imprint it left on our ears, we had to get her into the Guest Mix hot seat... so sit back and enjoy a beautiful hour of hazy house vibes.
