GUEST MIX SERIES

Nicola Loporchio is a producer and DJ, born and based in Bari, South Italy...

In late 2008 he gave life to one of his most famous projects, Nico Lahs, immediately attracting the attention of some of the best electronic music outputs in the underground scene. It didn’t take long for some well-known and respected labels to notice him and, indeed, in 2010 he signed an EP on 8bit Records and since then his career has been steadily on the rise: in 2011 his first EP with Josh Wink's Ovum Recordings, another one in 2012 and, in the same year, also his first EP on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat, to finally come back on Ovum in 2014.

During those years, he touched base in some of the most prestigious electronic music clubs around the world such as Cable, Sankeys, Club der Visionaere, Globus/Tresor, KaterHolzig, Weekend and Rex Club, just to name a few.

Here he serves up a delicious hour of deep cuts, taking in work from artists such as Marcellus Pittman, Hanna, Carl Criag and Kevin Yost... to name a few. Sit back, sip a cognac and burn one down to this... it's smooooooth.

We love an Edit here at SB, as you well know, so it's with great pleasure that we present to you one of the finest edit crafters in the game... LTJ Xperience.

We fell in love with the low slung dancefloor bombs Luca provided us through his label Super Value Edits, and all four of us have rinsed through the back catalog on dancefloors over the last 10 years.

Sit back and enjoy an hour of boogie bombs stripped back and pieced back together in the signature LTJ way.

It seems mad that we've not had the @casino-times boys in the mix series before now?! We've been kicking about London with these two for yeeears and somehow timings never really lined up until recently. We've always loved Joe and Nick's taste in music that always searches for something off the beaten path... something special that you wouldn't expect or be instantly able to categorise.

Finally in this fucked up year we managed to get the boys involved in some exclusive SB business... Their track Bones will be coming out next month on our Dancing With Friends album and its a beaaautiful pulsing hypnotic track that takes you on a swirling late night trip.

Now onto a reaaaaaally special mix that they've put together for us... we love these super crafted mixes and its one of those ones that you're going to have to come back to again and again for its diversity and flow. Its the weekend people! Lets goooooo!

It's about time we had this guy in eh. Malmö resident and master of 'Buttery bits & honey-house' over at Honey Butter records, it's Sune. We've long been a fan of his often dreamy take on disco house and you can always rely on his productions to bring the sun out and wash away any troubles. This mix is chock full of upcoming bits from him & the label but he's been kind enough to tracklist the lot so you'll know what to keep an eye out for. Big ups Sune and enjoy everyone!

This week we welcome @gestaltlabel head honcho Steffan Todorovic - a selector that may love the deeper and more hypnotic side House even more than we do?!

The label is co-run by Željko & Steffan and they've been so consistent with their output that many of their releases have been featured in our premiere series (RIP) and our radioshows for the last few years. With an extremely busy release schedule just around the corner we thought it was high time the crew stepped up for an hour of power in the SB guest mix series so get it on and catch them vibes from the Estonian taste makers.

"We're currently working on our next two vinyl releases - both coming from Swedish producer Bobo. The first one is already up online, with 'Pt. II' scheduled for later in November. In-between these we have another two digi EPs; one from Boulderhead (founder of Mint Tea) and one from Calmos & Berzingue (fka ALVA). The former's more on the wobbly space-electro side, while the later backtracks more into downtempo jazzy house. We are also working towards a string of wax releases for 2021, as well as having 3 EPs scheduled on our ambient tape-label Hidden Assets. "

We're back with another Deep House legend in the scene this week as we welcome @djaakmael to take over our series for the next hour.

We're huge fans of his beautifully melodic and smooth sound as you'll experience over the course of his guest mix.

Aak's music has been released on a lot of respected labels such as Scissor & Thread, Freerange Records, Axe On Wax as well as his own imprint Unxpozd amongst others and we've loved every one of them!

Up this week is House veteran Henry Maldonado aka Son Of Sound! With a discography of releases dating back to 1991, New York native Henry Maldonado credits his home city as inspiration and motivation for his art. As part of the House 2 House trio on Strictly Rhythm, Maldonado and crew fired out a relentless assault of New York style sampled and deep house tracks coveted by New York mainstays Little Louie Vega, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez, Timmy Regisford and many others. The label District 30 is Henry’s latest label and features a catalog of Son Of Sound releases, including the self-titled Son Of Sound full length.

Some Chicago disco royalty rolling through on the SB Guest mix series this morning... @Rahaan has been spinning house and disco since the 80’s and has amassed a truly enviable music collection in that time.

He has also been earning plaudits for his production skills with some truly outstanding releases. Recently he has released on some key labels including Lumberjacks In Hell, Street Edits and Dopeness Galore. His tracks are steeped in dancefloor groove, music made by a DJ with the sole intention of moving that floor. So get the mix on for the next hour and a bit and let those sunny vibes wash over you.

Steppin' up to the plates is West Coast DJ and producer @neverdullmusic. He's been making lovely deep and sample heavy house with lots of warmth and occasional Disco flourishes that we're particularly fond of here at SB. We've featured his tracks quite a few times in our radioshow and as premieres so we thought it was time to see what he can do over the course of an hour for our guest mix series.

For the last few years Joseph Ashworth has been crafting a unique sound within the realms of house and techno which has seen him release tracks on a few of our favourite labels. Life & Death, Disco Halal, Pets and Needwant to name just a handful!

Joseph produces a sound that captures the gritty honesty of techno, but with an experimental and melodic edge that you can't help but get swept up by on the dancefloor.
