Sliding into the weekend with this bumper mix from Phonk D, here is a bit of info if you ain't all up in that knowledge about the Disco Don...

In the early 90s electronic music grabbed hold of Phonk D. After many nights at clubs in Frankfurt, hundreds of kilograms of collected vinyls, countless DJ-gigs and a remarkable journey into Hip Hop as a producer, the Darmstadt resident founded his label Footjob in 2014. The Footjob sound is somewhere between deep, disco and classic house and finds the approval of well-known scene-heads. Following various releases on Footjob, Phonk D also appears on labels like Salsoul, Glitterbox, Nite Grooves, NDYD, Poetry in Motion, Sucio and EFTCM. With his event series "Diggin’ In The Crates“ at the Darmstadt-based Weststadt café he follows his passion for pushing tunes appealing to him since he took his first steps into the world of music.

Up this week is a guy who's material we've been big fans of for a while now. JVXTA the London based producer who's breadth of knowledge and skills in production goes as far and wide as the range of music supplied in this quality Guestmix this week! His EP on Distant Hawaii last year was on heavy rotation alongside his more recent output alongside Al Zanders & Dansu Discs. This mix is one for the warm up/warm down period of the evening. And rumour has it he might have supplied something for our Label later this year?!

London-based Sophie Lloyd radiates dancefloor magic behind the decks and in the studio, producing “happy music” as an antidote to the world’s pervading doom and gloom. She’s a DJ with over 15 years experience, an authoritative depth of musical knowledge and an innate talent for creating an atmosphere with music.

She is also very closely aligned with our fascination for disco bangers... and what better way to celebrate international women's day, than with an hours worth of exactly that... D_I_S_C_O bang bang.

Catch her down at Brixton Jamm next week:

This week we welcome Berlin based Aussie, Eluize into the mix. Playing alongside her last year at Hallo Montag we were taken in by the beauty and subtlety of her track selection, and at that point knew we needed to get her involved.

Her debut LP on Craigie Knowes is a beautiful 7 track journey through voice and sound. A unique blend of Eluize's voice, drum machines and synthesis have built an album that flows between dancefloor hypnotics and melodies that throw you out to drift in a lonely cosmic ocean, and a lot of that expression is captured here in her mix.

Nyma - Body Worx

These two guys are killing it right now, with each release going from strength to strength. We pretty much always play a track or two by them when we play out and from what we've heard of their forthcoming, that won't change! Comprised of Danvers & Warren Xclnce, they both make fantastic music in their own right, but combined they morph into the powerhouse that is Kassian.

If you haven't heard the stellar EP's on Phonica White and Heist then get over to their profile and have a butchers immediately, including the most recent Heist roundup EP where they've remixed Pitto's 'You Treat Me Like A Fool', which we Premiered a while back, absolute belter!

Kemback is a Berlin based producer whose music is rooted in House and Techno but often treads into the weird and wonderful worlds of Jazz, Soul, Folk, and Blues. While his gritty drums and shuffling grooves bear the hallmark of the Bristol, where he lived for a number of years, the melodic sensibility of his emotive strings and distant glimmering synths hark back to the tree-lined footpaths of the tiny Scottish village from which he takes his name.

With a string of releases on Omena, Future Boogie and Don't Be Afraid, the man is of quality stock... and forthcoming you'll find him on Alfresco Disco with a fresh set of heat...

Keep an ear out for a cheeky SB Jamz track in the mix.
