GUEST MIX SERIES

The Italians are coming... and they are armed to the teeth with editz and disco bangers.

The Dj duo behind the acclaimed weekly Milan party Rollover and the Balearic-centric Anything Goes label stop in to take control of this week's guest mix, and it doesn't disappoint.

Founders and resident DJs of the popular namesake party in Milan. The duo began their career playing at small clubs and private parties linked to the fashion scene, near and along the hip canal area of Milan. From word-of-mouth amongst those in the know, their parties gained popularity fast, and in the meantime the duo’s music also evolved, creating a unique disco/house mix with roots firmly in ‘70s funk, new wave and Afrobeat.

Lock it in people... it's Friday.

Somethin' Sanctified are long time collaborators Simon Mills (One half of electronic duo Bent) and Joel Hood (International Feel).

They met when Simon was drafted in to produce Joel's EP on Mark Barrott’s legendary ‘International Feel’ label. A year on, whilst Joel was providing vocals for Simon's solo album "Harmonic Jigsaws Vol 1" of last year, the pair discovered their mutual love for the more atmospheric side of Disco and House, and Sanctified was born.

Both have drawn heavily from nearly 20 years of playing out in a spectrum of venues, from Fabric and Renaissance through to more intimate and eclectic venues such as Pikes hotel, Ibiza.

Their debut track "Direct Sunlight" was recently released on Citizens of Vice, whilst also providing two remixes: for Yarni - "It Takes Time" and Ivan Fabra - "Cosmic Sunset". Their first EP is out shortly, with dates to follow.

As we continue... @salaryboy steps up in this week's guest mix slot with a delicious and nutritious dose of his trademark raw and ready House and Disco sounds.

You'll know Salary Boy from his close ties to the @steelcitydancediscs crew and he's still touring around with them and @mallgrab for this coming year so make sure you head out and catch them at the Marble Factory in Bristol, Aberdeen early feb and at Meraki in Liverpool alongside Loods.

Releases wise he's got some tasty stuff in the pipeline... @XXXY 's @souredits, @shadow-city and a few other secret bits to look forward to.

It's the frenchman that had a meteoric rise last year with releases & remixes on a who's who of labels within the House & Disco scene. We all know and love him by now it's Mangabey! His masterfully bouncy and jazzy influenced productions are on everyones usb stick and if he's not making the track, he's being called in to lay down some serious keyboard action on one. This extended mix from 'Bey will get you thinking of warmer climates & cooler drinks, enjoy!

Kicking off the new year in the Guest Mix series is South Shields house heavyweight, Richy Ahmed. Well known and highly regarded within White Isle house circles Richy has held down a stellar residency for Paradise at DC-10, for a number of years now… however, his musical influences reach beyond the broad church of house, branching into disco, funk, boogie, world and hip-hop. It’s this extended material palette that Richy calls upon for his contribution to our mix series, and with fantastic results. Even the most severe January blues will be dealt a blow here…

French house maestros, mixtape connoisseur's and fast rising record label Blaq Numbers are stepping into this weeks Guestmix hot seat. They are constantly releasing set staples and musical wonders to behold. This is the last mix of 2018 and we think its a wonderful way to round out the year!

Its been an amazing year for us here at SB! We have even bigger plans and more content for 2019 plus some amazing releases lined up already for our Labels. So keep it locked here at SlothBoogie and a massive thank you to all that made 2018 so special.

Hungarian maestro Route 8 has dropped by for the second to last mix of 2018, and what a doozy it is. We're obviously big fans and love his varied yet always top quality releases, usually through the adored Lobster Theremin label. Szilveszter likes to melt genres and different influences within his productions, which is why he's such an interesting producer. This is also clearly demonstrated with the silky mix he's provided. With a shared love of Disco too, he also knocks out set staples under his DJ Ciderman moniker. So insert witty vehicle pun here and enjoy the ride!
