GUEST MIX SERIES

We've been aware of the burgeoning talent that is iona for a number of years now... ever since her set at the Dance Tunnel (R.I.P) closing party, which stole the show. Now based in Clapton we've been keen to get her involved all summer, but a busy festival schedule has meant we've had to wait... but the wait is finally over.

In her own words... 'the mix takes my usual approach - a blend of all the tunes I've been enjoying recently... a mixed bag'

You can catch her tonight in Bristol... https://www.facebook.com/events/512059249249870/?__mref=mb

This week the Guestmix comes from one of London's tastiest re-edit labels High Praise. It's an offshoot of @xvi-records which boasts a heavy roster such as Books | Munro | Delonte Rivers | Henry Wu | Bambooman | My Panda Shall Fly & Yumi And The Weather. The edit focused offshoot inaugurated by @booksdj last year continues with label newcomer @partnermusic from whom we premiered the carnival ready 'My People' a few weeks back.

This is a mix to really get the juices flowing for the weekends festivities, full of energy and flawlessly mixed.

Be sure to head over to their FB and check out the ace merch & tunes these

guys supply!

So here we are at number 150! While Leicester based @flatwhiterecords may be a young label, the releases they have put out so far have been solid gold (alongside the art direction), and the upcoming stuff promises to be of the same calibre. We're obviously also big fans of the broken, heavily swung & jazzy influenced house they put out and this mix by label bossman @flatwhitechris showcases just that kind of music, so let the weekend vibes commence!

Making some serious lo-fi waves currently is Aussie label, recently re-located to Berlin @nerangrecordings, run by the lovely @djwhiprsnipr. We've premiered some great stuff off the label already so we thought, like we always do, "Hey man, wanna do a guestmix for us?!", and the bossman kindly obliged us after getting settled in wonderful Berlin. Chock full of his label's releases and also some forthcoming stuff, it's an awesome insight into the flavours and textures Nerang like to provide.

Get stuck into some exxtra crispy hi-hats people!

Originally from Detroit, born and raised, this Atlanta transplant, has been a DJ since his youth. From backyard and basement parties as a youngster, to the small club scene of metro Detroit, Reggie Dokes eventually became a sought after DJ in Mo-Town. Fast forwarding to 2001 he created his label Psychostasia Recordings, which after a period of hibernation has been reinvigorated in 2017...

Having released on heavyweight labels such as Clone, Transmat, Royal Oak and We Play House, Reggie's ear for a soulful flavour of US house is finely tuned. His mix here is no exception.

Happy Friday folks...

Behind the decks since 1995, and with a whole life dedicated to the world of music, Lele Sacchi is now internationally recognised as one of the icons of Italy's electronic, house and alternative music scene.

Behind the controls of this weeks guest mix, he serves up a maximum (147 innit)of italo tinged variety, crossing house to disco and back again, with plenty of that signature Italian energy.

The man that is blazing a trail of jazzy house destruction right now, be it on many various hawt labels such as @toytonics or @quintessentials or via his own @nomadarec he needs surely by now, no introduction. We've premiered a bunch of his stuff before so it was about time to get him round for a mix and see how he flexes on the 2's & 3's.

Give it up this week for @felipe-gordon!

About a month ago now we Premiered @Blazersmusic certified disco stomper 'Side 2 Side'. A track we're still playing out. So of course we thought, why not get the young Parisien in for a mix?! Well, here we are & the guy did not disappoint, so without further ado, lets gets this weekend rolling!

Co-Founder of the excellent @dansudiscs label, @nickhowsley is up for this weeks Guestmix! With access to his labels highest grade dancefloor weapons and the exemplary taste in music he clearly has, this mix is a real treat!

Be sure to grab the new Dansu Discs VA Compilation out now!: http://dansudiscs.co.uk/album/va-compilation-vol-2

He will also be playing for us next week at the Standon Calling festival stage we have curated alongside London's Patty & Bun, which we cannot wait for!

After a re-location to Australia, Norm De Plume is getting the ball well and truly rolling with his Castlecrag EP last month from which we prem'd the lovely Folamour remix. So we thought its only right to get a mix off him! @norm-de-plume has been making a name for himself the last eight years with remixes for Tornado Wallace and Ben La Desh and EP’s for Kolour LTD and his own vinyl only imprint Plumage winning him a solid following along the way.

His passion for all things disco and deep, dubby, underground house inspired by his musical hero Ron Hardy feeds through into his production style as well as his recently formed Peaches & Prunes party which boasts an audiophile sound system and vinyl-only sets from the DJ’s.

Did we mention we have a new record out today also?!: https://fanlink.to/SBTRAXX002
