As India's mental health needs become demands, we are seeing various responses to this, like mental health platforms, app based solutions and attempts by RCI/UGC to create more courses and professionals that might end up diluting the passing criteria and therefore the quality of care. Conversations on access often revolve on number of seats, number of mental health professionals, lack of insurance or unaffordable treatment, and while these are true, what are some internal barriers that stop us from seeking help and changing, even when access barriers are removed? These are also important to reflect on so that holistic solutions can be identified.
