The Brooklyn Nets are the team to beat in the NBA's Eastern Conference, and the Milwaukee Bucks did just that on the back of Giannis Antetokounmpo's 49 points on Sunday afternoon. The Bucks were not perfect by any means, but Giannis, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday did enough to propel Milwaukee to a 117-114 win over Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and the Nets. The Milwaukee Bucks were in position to keep surging toward the NBA Eastern Conference's number one seed until, yet again, Milwaukee fell apart down the stretch and blew a lead in what was a very winnable game against a banged up Atlanta Hawks team. Milwaukee Bucks optimism is BACK as the Bucks handled business in a crucial game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night in Milwaukee. Remember when the Eastern Conference had more than three good teams? That was fun, and short-lived. All of the teams currently below the Milwaukee Bucks in the standings have had up-and-down seasons, to be generous, which has resulted in a huge logjam from fourth to eighth.
