The last quarter of the calendar year can be a lot for music teachers. Veterans Day, Holiday concerts, grading and comunity choral concerts all seem to hit at the same time! That is why I created the Happier Music Teacher Final Stretch Challenge to encourage us to take care of ourselves without making it a part time job. Join us in these action steps and then let us know how it is going in the Happier Music Teachers Facebook group.

I've been a long time listener of the Music Teacher Coffee Talk podcast. In fact, they were one of my inspirations for starting the Happier Music Teacher podcast. Tanya and Carrie invited me on their podcast to chat about implementing summer learning into the school year since I recently completed Level II Kodaly. Carrie recently completed Level 1 Orff. Both Tanya and Carrie have been long term levels instructors at the Colorado Kodaly Institute so they brought that perspective. Our conversation quickly veered into self-care during levels training such as sleep, emotional regulation and prioritization. We'll continue part 2 next week.
