This week we continue in our mini-series within "The Story" called "This Changes Everything" that is our exploration of the life and ministry of Jesus. Each week we will look at one of the four gospel accounts before we look more specifically at the last week of Jesus life. This Sunday we turn our attention to the Gospel according to John and his emphasis on Jesus' divinity and the belief that leads to life. We will explore this emphasis through the lens of his summary of purpose in chapter 20 as we consider the rest of John's Gospel.

A Bigger Identity

John 15:1-17

John's Gospel points beyond the things that we can see and touch to a deeper spiritual reality that changes everything about how we live. Two intertwined truths come to a head in John 15: 1) Jesus is more than a man but is God in human flesh, the Word who made his dwelling among us; 2) our very lives are completely and utterly transformed by the mystery of being united with Christ. The result of union with Christ is love for one another.

To Seek and to Save the Lost

This week we continue in our mini-series within "the Story" called "This Changes Everything" that is our exploration of the life and ministry of Jesus. Each week we will look at one of the four gospel accounts before we look more specifically at the last week of Jesus life. This Sunday we turn our attention to the Gospel according to Luke and his emphasis on Jesus who came for lost people everywhere. We will consider his encounter with the chief tax collector, Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1-10 that reveals Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. Nothing can disqualify you from the radical love of God in Jesus Christ. Join us as we consider Jesus' words for our own lives.

Each of the 4 gospels shows us a unique side of Jesus. This week as we look at the book of Luke we will see that Jesus is for lost people everywhere. This is good news for us and for everyone in this world because all of us are lost in one way or another, and need a Savior to pursue us and bring us home.

Two “alpha males” step forward with a move to consolidate their place of primacy in the Band of Twelve that Jesus has assembled. They act in a way that is perfectly common and understandable to us – this is the way you climb the “career ladder” after all - and that perfectly misses the point of both the identity and mission of Jesus.

This week we continue in our mini-series within "The Story" called "This Changes Everything" which is our exploration of the life and ministry of Jesus. Each week we will look at one of the four gospel accounts before looking more specifically at the last week of Jesus' life. This week we turn our attention to the Gospel according to Mark and his emphasis on Jesus the servant Messiah. We will consider his words to the disciples in Mark 10: 42-45 which turns most of their assumptions upside down about what it means to be great. Join us as we consider Jesus' words for our own lives.

Each of the 4 gospels shows us a unique side of Jesus. This week as we look at the book of Mark, we will see that Jesus’ mission as the Servant Messiah was to die. This was hard for His disciples to understand because what kind of King would die on purpose? As we’ll see in Jesus, through Mark, that God’s Kingdom is an upside-down one. Greatness is defined by humility and servanthood. The Son of Man came to serve not to be served and give His life as a ransom for many.
