Joining

Ephesians 2:1-10

This Sunday we continue our Fall sermon series in the book of Ephesians around the question, "Who Are We?" We will continue to draw from the gospel waters of Ephesians 2:1-10 but this week we will also consider Ephesians 4:1-6 and this theme of the body of Christ. The implication of joining our lives with Christ is we also join the body of Christ. Will we embrace the challenges and joys of this gift??

As we look again at Ephesians 2:1-10 this week and our working vision at Harderwyk Ministries we are going to look at what it means to “join in” on what Christ has done. We will reflect on what it means that we “join in” when receive God’s grace “through faith”.

Jesus is at work to build something new and never seen before. He is joining together what was once separated and YOU are an important part of it!

Safe in the Storm

Acts 27:21-26

Even when Paul’s Roman captors choose foolish risk by sailing out of season, the Gospel of God’s Grace will get to Rome, just as Jesus said it would in Acts 1:8. Paul did not choose the risk of storm at sea, but when he found himself there, he became God’s grace to the unbelieving crew.

This Sunday we wrap up our Devoted Series and our 23-week through the New Testament book of Acts. We will consider how the book ends and what that means for the Gospel and for us as Christ's witnesses. May the Holy Spirit inspire us to continue in this call Jesus gave to his apostles at the beginning of Acts. "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

The end of Acts finds Paul as a prisoner proclaiming Christ the King and His Kingdom with all freedom and without hindrance. How is this possible? How can this be so? What does this mean for us today?

What do we want for others? Do we hope, pray and work for the best for them? What do we wish for or upon our “enemies”? This week we will get to see and hear Paul’s deepest desire for people and explore the impact of that in our lives.
