One of the signs of the Antichrist’s coming will be the way that he overthrows three kingdoms of the Earth. In other words, moving beyond religious institutions and even gurus, our culture chooses to worship what’s tangible. Whether it’s wealth, a partner, or a job, we prefer to worship what’s right in front of us. In today’s message, Pastor Jeff wants you to know that if you want to invest in wisdom that lasts beyond the grave, give your heart to Jesus. Worship a living, breathing God who wants to usher you into eternity.

When Daniel was saved from the lions’ den, it set an example of how God can rescue you from a dangerous situation. Pastor Jeff reminds you that God’s response may not always be to save you, but He does reward those who are put in danger for deciding to worship Him instead of bowing down to mankind’s demands. Daniel chose to go into the lion’s den not knowing if God was going to save him or not. But he knew the reward on the other side was greater than a thousand lifetimes on Earth.

The book of Daniel gives several examples of how Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were given favor by God, and even saved from certain death because they believed in God’s sovereignty rather than caving into the demands of the culture they lived in. Don’t doubt the power of the Lord, He can move on your behalf and open doors that you never would have thought could be opened.

The greatest benefit of studying history is to learn from the mistakes of those who came before you. It gives you the chance to see where people have gone wrong in how they treat other people, political decisions that didn’t produce the desired outcome, or the rise of evil political figures who seemingly came from nowhere. Pastor Jeff teaches you today that studying mistakes of the past can also help you avoid falling into sinful behavior, separating yourself further from your old, godless self.

It’s safe to say that we all have bad habits. Whether they’ve slowly developed over time, or seemingly came out of nowhere, bad habits destroy our lives all the same.
