  • 029: Ending Emotional Eating
I love helping people lose weight. I have been coaching people for almost 7 years to help them to lose anywhere from 1 pound, 10 pounds and sometimes even over 100 pounds, but the process and the mindset is always the same.
I have realized that when people complain about their weight issues, but are not taking the steps to fix it then the weight is actually unconsciously serving them because it is acting like a shield for them in a way and they don’t even realize it.
My good friend wrote a blog post about it that opened my eyes and has helped so many of my clients unlock what was holding them back while losing weight. I go over that blog in today’s episode and I’ll expand more about how to end emotional eating next week.
Here is the blog post if you want to follow along with the episode and if you want help to lose weight, then email me at [email protected] and we’ll get you setup to start right away to unlock the barriers that have been holding you back.

  • 028: How To Be The Perfect Parent
I tried to be the perfect parent to my own kids for years and always came up short. I wasn’t even close to being perfect and often felt like I was failing with a giant F most days!
I have found a beautiful way to be a perfect parent while still being imperfect with our actions being B-! It will take the pressure off of your shoulders and allow you to give the same gift to your children. I would’ve given a million dollars to have this information when my kids were younger and love paying it forward to you to take the pressure off of your shoulders and that same pressure from your children.
Leave me a review on your thoughts and I can’t wait to see you float away from your lightness you’ll feel once you remove the pressure cooker out of your house.

  • 027: Naughty Or Nice
We all fall into the naughty or nice concept during the holiday and I’m begging parents to reconsider this idea that an elf, a Mensch on a Bench or Santa Claus, etc will determine their value or worth and then give presents in according to the opinion of this mythical figure that doesn’t even exist. I love the holidays and all the magic that comes with this season so let’s still have fun, but not bring in a child’s worthiness or value in the process.

  • 026: Holding The Space
I am always telling my clients to “hold the space” for their kids when they are having a meltdown, but what does that actually mean? It’s essentially means ‘’to be with someone without judgment and donate your ears and heart without wanting anything back while practicing empathy and compassion.”
In this episode, I’ll go over how it felt when people held the space in my life and how I did as a counselor and how you can hold the space for your children during their messy moments.
You will breed so much connection with your kids and that will breed more connection!
Please zap me back on your biggest takeaway and if you want access to the calm down chart mentioned in this episode to help your child tame their tantrums.

  • 025: The Playbook
We all know that a football coach is a great play maker and creates play for all the players to run during the game so it will skyrocket the offense, score more touchdowns and win more games! When the players follow the runs to a tee then there is happiness and sometimes we bring that same mentality into our relationships with those within our 4 walls.
I’ll go over some examples of playbooks that we create in our relationships that prevents vulnerability to live, holds our loved ones hostage with our controlling energy that is always rooted in fear and how to shred those playbooks once and for all and accept the “as is” of every imperfection, hang up, quirk, idiosyncrasy, and love without conditions.

  • 024: Cognitive Dissonance
Today we are learning fancy-schmancy word called “Cognitive Dissonance”. It sounds fancy, but what i really means is the uncomfortable emotions that come up between an old thought and a new thought.
This is the reason why most people don’t achieve their goals; whether it’s something like a goal to lose weight, stop yelling at their kids, live in an organized house, have more connection with the spouse, write that book or build that business they’ve always dreamed of.
The old thought feels so familiar like an old pair of jeans that we slip on and to challenge the unconscious mind feels challenging and uncomfortable so we have the choice of creating new thoughts to reach our goal or thinking the same thoughts and having the same result.
I’ll give you a few examples of how to bridge the gap between the old thought and the new thought and to leapfrog to the result you’re wanting in your life.

  • 023: Stop Gaslighting Our Kids
If you’re like me and never heard the term “Gaslighting” comes from the 1938 stage play Gas Light, in which a husband attempts to drive his wife crazy by dimming the lights (which were powered by gas) in their home. When his wife points it out, he denies that the light changed.
Gaslighting is an extremely effective form of emotional abuse that causes a victim to question their own feelings, instincts and sanity, which gives the abusive partner a lot of power (and we know that abuse is about power and control). Once an abusive partner has broken down the victim’s ability to trust their own perceptions, the victim is more likely to stay in the abusive relationship.
Psychologists use the term “gaslighting” to refer to a specific type of manipulation where the manipulator is trying to get someone else (or a group of people) to question their own reality, memory or perceptions.
I dive deep into this term and how we need to stop gaslighting our children and teaching them emotional resiliency instead of stopping the complex emotions to flow freely.
