Harris Happening

NYTimes bestselling author Tom Clavin was back to talk about his latest work on the story of "Tombstone: The Earp Brothers, Doc Holliday, and the Vendetta Ride from Hell.

It's the most famous gunfight in the history of the old West. Thirty shots fired in 30 seconds. Three men were dead, three others were shot.  Virgil Earp is maimed, Morgan Earp is killed, Wyatt and Warren Earp plus Doc Holliday gathered a few others guys to track down the men who shot the Earp brothers.

It's a fascinating read with meticulous research, and you'll have a tough time putting it down.

Tom's next book will feature the great frontiersman Daniel Boone.

Scotch from JACK FM and Bob Harris from KFGO have teamed up for another potboiler this week. It's the great early-90's slasher film, "Sorority House Massacre 2" directed by Jim Wynorski and featuring Gail Harris, Melissa Moore, and Peter Spellos. Gratuitous nudity, violence... and loads of laughs. We had a lot of fun with this one and we think you will too. Have a listen!

Nikki McLeod is not only keeping busy with her music, but she is helping her mother and sister in a project called "Mama-Made Mercy Masks".  They have made hundreds of cotton medical masks so far and the orders keep coming.

If fact they just received an order for 300 from the the USS Arleigh Burke. The ship carries 300 servicemen. It’s her understanding that this ship escorted/escorts one of the military COVID hospital ships and have no masks on board. Their going to try to get out 600 to them.

Nikki also tells us that she's on her 3rd sewing machine, because they have trouble with the constant sewing of this project.

The masks cost nothing, they are doing it for free, but are looking for donations of cotton, and "Pellon" a filter that is used in the mask. Cash donations can be made.

All the information can  be found at their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Mama-Made-Mercy-Masks-100950858245197/

Nikki, Deb, and Kathryn...bless you for the work you're doing to help our first responders and medical teams.

Phil Sklar, the Co-Founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Museum in Milwaukee says the new hot bobblehead doll is Dr. Anthony Fauci, the man who  Americans are putting their faith in when it comes to keeping them informed on the Covid-19 virus.

The doctor has been featured on t-shirts to donuts and Phil thought why not the ultimate honor...a bobblehead doll in his honor. And the orders are pouring in.

The cost is just $25 and the shipping fee is a flat 8 bucks no matter how many dolls you order.

Five dollars from each doll ordered will go toward the "Protect the Heroes Campaign" to help support the 100 million mask challenge to help protect our first responders, doctors and nurses, and others on the front line of fighting the pandemic. The first check of $100,000 was sent out Wednesday (4/8)

Pre-orders are being taken now with dolls expected to ship in July.

We had a great conversation with local Psychic Medium Jodie Harvala on KFGO's Nighttime Live.

What is a Psychic Medium? Is it taught or is it a gift? Can anybody have this ability? What kind of help are people seeking from a medium? How do you handle skeptics and get them to open their minds? I asked about using a crystal ball or tarot cards? Do spirits want to hang around after you've finished a reading? She also gives a couple of examples of the stranger readings.

Jodie will join us in the near future and do a full hour with us and maybe we can get you to call in to the show at that time.

She's got a website where you can find out more at www.jodieharvala.com

"How to be a Conscious Eater" couldn't come at a better time with the pandemic that's happening in our world.

In a world where people tell you to eat this or that, what's in season? What's the deal with all those labels and numbers and the packaging of our food? What's the deal with gluten and what food should I eat or avoid? What the latest on eating red meat? Should I be asking a lot of questions to my grocer or waiter at the restaurant?

Sophie makes things so much easier to understand with this new book. How to make good food choices, and tips on helping out the planet especially when it comes to plastic wrapping or containers.

And with the recent addition of twin boys to her family, she has researched this book and put it in a very easy format to understand.

Watch out for that leather-clad rockabilly psychopath with the electric drill in his guitar! Scotch and Bob Harris are back with a brand new B-Movie Bonanza. This time out they're reviewing the 1987 slasher that is a loosely-based sequel to Slumber Party Massacre that stars Crystal Bernard (Wings). The film follows Courtney, the younger sister from the first movie, as she and her friends are attacked by a supernatural psychobilly with a power drill guitar. What did Scotch and Bob think of this movie? Will they watch part three? Why do they keep subjecting themselves to this torture? Have a listen and find out for yourself.
