Ex-Director of the Fargo Theatre joined us for another update on the 20th annual Fargo Film Festival. 90 films will be screened for the over 300 entries received from around the world.  We talked about the different categories and some of the special guests coming into Fargo to help support their films. We also go over some of the award winners that have already been announced.

Kendra and Krista joined Nighttime Live as the tornado that ripped through Nashville was only a mile away from their home.

 As the warning sirens sounded near East Nashville and on their cell phones, they sought safety in their bathroom, the only room without windows. Most Tennessee homes have no basements. Meanwhile their parents were 45 miles away obviously very concerned about their daughters.

We get their observations of the horrible damage from a city that was also hit by a tornado back in 1998. 

The two had taken a drive today and took a look at the damage at the areas they were permitted to go, and hope to help out the recovery effort tomorrow.

We had a chance to talk with Tanya and Scotch Anderson on NTL about the huge benefit coming up March 15th at the El Zagal Shrine Center at 1439 3rd St N in Fargo. They just celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. You can read below or better yet listen to this podcast with Tanya and Scotch. Scotch works in our building for Jack FM and is the co-host of "B-Movie Bonanza".

Scotch, who's been a local radio personality in the Fargo Moorhead area for over 20 years. He and his family need our help. His wife of 26 years was diagnosed in July with GIST Cancer and started a chemo pill which is the only treatment for this type of cancer. Unfortunately, Tanya has a rare side effect to the chemo that has put her in Acute Liver Failure. She is the 5th person in the Country to have this happen. She needed a Liver Transplant but is not eligible because her Cancer is now untreatable. The medical bills are piling up and they need our help.

Bill Grommesh of Hope Inc. a non-profit organization that provides family friendly sporting and recreational opportunities critical to the health and development of children and adults is looking for businesses & individuals to form teams and get into sleds and play a game of hockey seated!

This fundraising event has several dates and time slots to chose from! 3/6, 3/7, 3/8, 3/14 and 3/15. Money raised goes to help HOPE, Inc. and the 20+ activities we offer to kids and adults living with mobility challenges. This year this even will also be held in Grand Forks in April.

Richard Early has owned Paradox for 27 years he is blind in one eye and very low vision in the other. He tells us the event  he is having this Saturday is never been done before as far as he knows. This event will feature games from 64 ounce games will provide blind people to play the same board games against sighted people.

There's a $5.00 entry fee but you can give more if you'd like. Also you can buy tickets and place them in certain buckets to possible win that particular prize.

All proceeds from "It's you Turn" at Paradox Comics and Cards  will benefit the National Federation of the Blind North Dakota.

The Detroit Lakes Jaycees announce their 2nd Polar Pileup a demolition derby on ice this Saturday at the Kent Freeman Arena in D.L. At least 5 different classes for this event, from compacts to trucks and minivans.

Brian Anderson is the Chair and he tells us tickets will be available at the door! Adults $10.00, kids 5 and up $5.00, younger children are free.

Gates will open at noon and the event begins at one.

If your interested in participating there may be a couple of openings. Call Brian at 1-763-438-9745. Entry fee is $40 with addition pit crew $10 each.

Come early for the event at 800 attended last year and they're expecting bigger crowd this year.

Responsibilities and Obligations: Understanding Mitákuye Oyásʼiŋ features work by Clementine Bordeaux, Mary V. Bordeaux, and Layli Long Soldier from Racing Magpie Gallery in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Andy Maus of the Plains Art Museum says that this exhibit is one that needs to be taken in as a whole instead of piece by piece. Audio is also incorporated into the exhibition which runs through August.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to share the Lakota language and build understanding among the Titonwan communities of the region and the Native and non-Native populations in the Fargo Moorhead area through arts and culture.

We found out that Brian Freeman's thriller "Thief River Falls" is now on sale at Barnes and Noble. After your calls and comments that you'd like to get the hard copy arrangements were made and the publisher now has a supply of books at the store.

Also Brian's novel "The Deep, Deep Snow" is now available for download for just $1.99 for a limited time.

We also got an update on the new 'Bourne Evolution" novel written by Brian. The Robert Ludlam Estate loved it and said "Don't change a thing".
